Will they? We're 14 pages in and not one poster, even of the staunchest NI supporters, has admitted to buying this. lol
Do we have to admit to buying something now?
Only if you’re guilty.

That's not a knock on it if you like the trick. I don't, others will. I won't buy it, others will, everyone's happy.

You choose weird things to get emotional about.
.. but that's just it, it's not at all what you describe. As I said, if you watched the presentation video, you'd know this.

I'm starting to understand how easily some people are duped by just a title and short a description. Amazing how quickly a mind is made up, eh? Even with evidence to the contrary available.
Yeah, it would seem that critical thinking has joined common sense as being so rare it can be considered a superpower.

So you bought it?

It's weird, because when you go to any thread about a new synth from Arturia, or TAL, or u-he, or Softube, etc, they're always full of people saying "bought!" and "insta-buy!" and "buy now!" starting from pretty much the first reply.

But here we are, one week and well over 200 posts in, and not one person has said they've bought this one. And yet, I do believe the reason NI made it was to sell it to ...someone. So, if not us, then who? And if not now, when?

I did watch the video, a couple of them. So unless you bought the synth, you have as much information about it as I do.

That is what I based my admittedly limited opinion upon. It's strange you'd assume otherwise, considering the video is in the OP.

It looks like it can do other sounds, sure. But it all looks a little samey sounding to me. I can't think of more of a one trick pony synth offhand.

uh oh...looks like somebody bought it! And he likes it! It does that plasticky, hyper-real, elastic sound better than anything else I know off. That may be a one-trick pony for some people but it's a very big trick and holds all sorts of variations. It's almost like a genre unto itself. If the market were as small as when Massive was introduced, this could be to hyperpop what Massive was to dubstep. If you are into that, it's fookin great. I guess the downside to having this stuff built in Reaktor is no product demo because they haven't figured out a way to do that or they can't be bothered. Anyway - carry on.

Only real downside that I see so far is that it is a very full sound - it fills a lot of frequencies. So, this synth will have to be the star of the show and will be a challenge to get it to fit into an already full mix. You won't be reaching for this if you just want like, a pad to fill out your mix. I mean, you could, but you'll be doing a lot of EQ and parameter fiddling.

Sounds really nice with some distortion. Surprised there's no saturation/distortion on board. Also, unless I'm missing something, there is no on board way to modulate the star thingy that is the star of the show! X and Y are automation targets however, so you can use your DAW modulators but it seems like an obvious omission. Again, unless I'm missing something. First impressions here.

can't double click parameters to set them to "init" values. My biggest workflow bummer so far.
