I actually agree, Linux is getting more and more popular and devs need to adapt.

I'm boring. My favorite synth plugin hasn't change in the last 10 years or so. It's still Waldorf Largo.

I blame the developers. I simply haven't come along anything better by now.

Some people seem to like it, some seem to hate it. For me, it's one of the best, if not the best soft synth ever created. Every time I used it, I end up with something useful and inspiring.

Unfortunately, they messed up the GUI with version 2, but, that's the only version you can buy from them now...

Nice re: Largo. I use Wolfram Franke's next synths after that a lot - the Tracktion ones.

Lots of pages on these, though. Not for everyone. However, pretty deep.

That's the problem with Linux. If we had to talk about it in terms of distros, or OS as you put it, we'd have to mention 600+ active OS in each post. I don't think that would help anyone.

"Really cross-platform" means all platforms (Windows, macOS, Linux and its distributions, the BSDs, Haiku, VMS, Plan 9, ...), not only three arbitrarily chosen ones. The roughly 3% desktop Linux users are more vocal on the internet than they should, IMO. A niche is a niche even if it's a very, very loud niche.

Definitely Europa by far. Then Thor, Algoritm, Subtractor, and now Polytone are the most likely to be used. All in Reason.

I have Vital, Phase Plant, Surge etc and they have interesting things about them but if it can't be done in Europa, it is probably not worth doing. Lots of the time if I start in one of these, I swap back to Europa once I know what is happening.
