In Arturia terms this usually means that nobody cares and nobody is aware of anything and nobody is working on it.bjm4tt wrote: Mon Feb 23, 2026 8:28 am Got this today from support: "Unfortunately this issue is not fixed yet, but it's logged on our side for further investigation. i haven't had the chance to use v7 yet, i hope they make it some kind of priority.
on my machines, the GUI of v7 loads way too slow to integrate into a workflow. The whole GUI area needs an overhaul, codewise i think. Maybe lose the nipple macros in the process?

hehe, maybe true but being a free upgrade for users since forever shouldn't give them the proper incentiveIgro wrote: Mon Feb 23, 2026 9:24 amIn Arturia terms this usually means that nobody cares and nobody is aware of anything and nobody is working on it.bjm4tt wrote: Mon Feb 23, 2026 8:28 am Got this today from support: "Unfortunately this issue is not fixed yet, but it's logged on our side for further investigation. sooooo...
installed v7, pretty good, but the GUI takes forever to load at least first time each session. I can't believe it's been this long with no update. Is this usual for Pigments/Arturia? they're obviously on the Augmented trip right now, but I'm hoping they might fix this slow load thing. I'm a bit far gone now to roll back to v6.

It's a bit misunderstandable. Since version 1, Pigments has only received free major updates. So, instead of taking them for yearly major updates, it's better to view them as updates for the initial version of Pigments. And, there were loads of them. And, there were loads of new features as well. Basically, Pigments has grown from a well featured synth to a complete feature monster. All for free for original owners, even of version 1.sqigls wrote: Sat Jul 25, 2026 5:14 am sooooo...

Not sure if the GUI issue is also new in V7 too?
So if the major issues are all new in V7, I don't think it's relevant what has gone before V6.
People tend to compare to the immediately prior version.
It makes more sense to compare today's current versions of complex synths in terms of features and performance.
Some synths and even effects are getting more demanding GPU wise and can be unusable on say integrated graphics from say 6 or 7 years ago.
My i9-9900 is generally okay CPU wise but can struggle with some plugin GPU tasks.
Note:
Make sure to update your graphics driver if you have slow GUI issues.

Yeah I don’t get why it takes so much RAM. Does it load any samples into memory to speed up the loading of presets or something else maybe? I can’t see the UI taking so much of that, since it uses over 1GB on my PC.

the initial GUI load of v7 takes at least 20 seconds on my M1 macbook pro.
much slower than the final version of v6.
I think Ana 2 takes about 2-3 seconds and Ana 2 was formerly the longest loading synth GUI of all my VST3 plugins.
it's first world problems for sure, but it's a bit of a flow dampener.

I just ran a test here on Windows 11 and Pigments took under 4 seconds to load. I believe Arturia plugins do try to phone home or at least access the Arturia Software Center on first load.
The ASC runs as a process and keeps an open TCP connection at least on Win 11.
I know that when I first load an Arturia plugin it drops an empty folder in my downloads folder so it's doing something.
So all that stuff in the background could slow loading time on some systems under certain conditions.
It does use about 2.2 gigs of memory on load.

All Arturia plugins take forever (like 20-30 seconds or so) to load the GUI the first time on my PC (Windows 10, Cubase 15). As far as I know, this is an issue some people have had for years but Arturia's never been able to solve. I'm not sure how many are affected by it; I've found message board posts dating back many years ago, but at the same time I assume if this was a really widespread problem you'd be seeing angry posts about it every time Arturia is mentioned somewhere.

Same here - there must be something seriously wrong with the Pigments' code - it loads 3 to 5 sec, each instance. I could survive that - but whats the biggest issue is that each instance takes like 1 to 1.5GB - I loaded 3x Pigments and it ate 6 GB of RAM easily. Ridiculous. Not sure how did this pass quality control and test phases.
