None of KBrown’s plugins sound even close to the originals, so calling them “emulations” is very misleading.gaf_thit wrote: Sat Jul 04, 2026 5:49 pmYeah, as I wrote:4_the masses wrote: Sat Jul 04, 2026 5:39 pmFrom the site article - This emulation is inspired by the real unit circuits but is not aiming to sound accurate to the hardware synth.gaf_thit wrote: Fri Jul 03, 2026 4:06 pm I remember this old plugin, where the dev tried to copy the architecture of the A6, but as he said the end result did not sound like it, but similar(ish)...
Ah, found it: B6 by KBrown
https://plugins4free.com/plugin/2627
He has a lot of emulations, but all in 32-bit. Seems to concentrate on baking instead lately apparently.
PS: Haven't tested it myself by the way, just a faint memory triggered by this thread.
Therfore not an A6 is it?

It's B6.
With All These Emulations Coming Out...

If only they update it to modern formats!Uncle E wrote: Wed Jul 01, 2026 7:08 am FXpansion Cypher was in many ways a version of the Andromeda, as told to me by the man himself. When I manually copied the Andromeda patches over to it, it was the closest I've gotten in plugin form.

Signed up to say hello and to say that I have been working on an Andromeda engine for my upcoming Caladan Hardware synth.
As development has progress I've realised it should probably also be released as a plugin. It all started out from my modelling the the ASICs and then I just went full send on the whole thing.
It's 100% compatible with original sysex so I've been doing all my internal testing against the factory presets. In my subjective opinion it sounds 95% + to the original hardware. I still have to tweak a few things, mainly response curves.
Currently it's running as a clone so that I could keep a/b'ing against my real machine, but the UI with it's original LCD pages etc doesn't make sense as a plugin, so will have a partial re-write/re-imagining of the entire center section, soft pots, buttons etc not being needed since you can click with a mouse.
I'll throw a video up soon going through the factory presets.

Wow that's great! Maybe when you get closer to making a video and the rest of it, you could create a new topic for it. If any beta testers are needed for PC... Andromeda is a pain to use even with its 50+ knobs. I’d like to get a Caladan regardless, but I wonder how he’s going to solve that.
