Can mean anything. We will see. Of course, it's not unlikely that the VST exporter won't come for everyone, after all, that's how it is with Kontakt as well.

Every time NI tries to lock people into their Ecosystem, I think it ultimately ends up hurting them. My opinion on it is that they keep trying to treat end-users and developers as cash registers, and as a result, some percentage of users and developers start looking elsewhere. I don't think this whole "content first/walled-garden eco-system" model they've been pushing for years was the right one, as evidenced, in part, by their financial troubles. And after what InMusic did to BFD, I'm not confident they'll suddenly see the light and become more consumer-friendly.

But it's the kind of thing I'd love to be wrong about.

I think plugin export is a great idea that NI is likely to execute poorly.

I think the far more likely scenario is that it will be open to everyone.

When you really read between the lines here, Matthew talks about how it will include licencing and distribution. That's not surprising since they would be standing on top of NI's propritary code.

My guess is that anyone can export stand alone instruments but that they will only be able to be distributed through NI somehow where they make money from them.

I would imagine as you are building them you can essentially make Beta versions you can test yourself but they would only work on the same machine that has the Reaktor license that built them

You assume there won't be a marketplace or webstore where they are all won't be for sale and NI/inMusic won't make money from every sale. That way they limit it to users who take their licensing via Native Access, installers, so they can sell the serial numbers and get something from the cake.

i assume releasing a VTS3 plug in will require a license w/steinberg for VST3??? so, i guess that’s something to work out if someone is going to distribute something and probably why it looks like it is something that will only be in native access licensing ???

i’m sure more details will come. at a minimum it’s nice to know they’re thinking about Reaktor updates again.

I agree. I tried SM CM version and it wasn't as intuitive as SE. It's a lot like making a synth in Reaktor, which is not very easy, and in no way compares to the sounds you can get out of Reaktor.
--I want Reaktor to have a 'Save As VST' function!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Actually no, this all started development long before the insolvency saga and inMusic buyout. So inMusic did not figure anything out here, they are continuing to carry the torch though.
