Just released BeatForge 4.3.0 — rearranged the UI a bit for a more pro look + added new features
Patterns & Song Mode
16 pattern slots per song with seamless switching, quantized to the end of the loop — no gaps, no cut-off tails. Drag slots into a chain lane, hit SONG, and the whole arrangement plays through. MIDI export renders the complete chained song, ready to drop on a DAW track.
Live tap recording
Arm REC, press play, and drum your beat in — on a MIDI controller, the on-screen keys, or the new Pads dock (one big MPC-style pad per track). Hits snap to the nearest step and overdub as the pattern loops. Hit hard and the step records as an accent.
Also in 4.3.0
- REX play-zone: choose a play region in the waveform, independent of the slicer brackets (bugfix)
- Decluttered header, cleaner layout, context labels everywhere
- Fixes: rare host crashes on close, parameter-lock saving, stale samples on synth tracks

I really wish all developers were like Paul—always listening to users and implementing new features. Thanks.

The difference to me is that they're useful features. Usually if I like a plugin I'll stop updating when constant tacked on, superfluous things get added.
It may be getting close to peak form for my needs so I'm keeping older installers, but in the meantime it keeps improving in terms of everyday, practical and potential use.
