Hi,

"need" (aka GASing) a good alternative to Sandman Pro

requirements
- nice unabashedly lofi digital sound
- flexible freeze function with adjustable buffer length, playback speed and direction
- nice modulation options
- no ilok, no software manager crap, etc. just a nice and plain serial key
- Apple Silicon support

any suggestions?

Hey there. I've been working on a plugin called Oracle that I think ticks a lot of these boxes.

It's got freeze and reverse performance features, although it doesn't have the adjustable buffer length and playback speed you mentioned. This gives me some interesting ideas for future additions though.

Oracle is certainly digital forward, focused on a versatile palette of character-heavy delay sounds. It also uses a plain serial key and works on Apple Silicon.

I don't have all my marketing materials together because I just recently got Oracle to a solid pre-release version. Working toward a full v1.0 release soon, with refined presets, video/audio examples, and maybe a few more feature additions.

You're welcome to grab the free trial of Oracle at wiredsaint.com and see if it meets your needs. :)

Cheers!

FKFX Audio’s Vocal Freeze is a clever multi-effect with 4 buffers, and a ton of cool features. I wouldn’t say that it’s exactly like Sandman Pro, but it can do some amazing things with freezing parts, for special effects.

NI Molekular can do this.

that Vocal Freeze looks interesting, will check this out

Regarding Molekular: it's using a software manager which is a no-no for me and NI has long been dead to me anyway since maybe around 2009 or so, except for maybe Reaktor and 2 - 3 effects plugins, which i must admit all are of insane quality

Ignoring for a second the software manager part, IMO as far as insane quality NI effects plugins go, Molekular is the insanest

this of course might very well be true

it still does not exist (for me anyways)

i have no problem at all to settle with something else
and sometimes less features and even "lesser" sound quality can even be a plus, not a minus (see my request for "lofi digital")

One of the Sugar Bytes effects plugins has a plugin it called Freezeverb. (At least v1. I see they are on v2)
