Hey everyone, I’ve just released Stellarizer, my new performance-to-pattern MIDI sequencer.
Instead of building sequences one step at a time, Stellarizer starts with a phrase you actually play. It captures the timing, contour, velocity, note length, and sustain gestures of your performance, then turns that material into a field of related patterns you can shape, audition, evolve, preserve, and drag back into your DAW.
It includes performance capture, quantization, key and scale controls, Scale Lock, six Shape controls, eight different Pattern roles, Near/Far/Deep Space discovery modes, pinning, rerolling, pattern evolution, automatic Recordings history, preset support, and MIDI drag-and-drop export.
Stellarizer generates MIDI rather than audio, so it is designed to drive your software instruments or hardware synths. It is available for Windows VST3, macOS VST3, and macOS MIDI FX AU for Logic Pro and MainStage.
For launch week, you can get 50% off with the code:
STELLARBETA
You can check it out here: https://s1gnsofl1fe.gumroad.com/l/stellarizer
I’d love to hear what kinds of performances and patterns you end up feeding into it.

A beautiful plugin - I went from annoyed (please, please get rid of the tip section on the pay screen) to elated. It took 2 minutes for me to go from peeved to a huge grin. Well done, very innovative.
Try a string ensemble preset with a simple 1 5 2 2 chord progression! Just play and smile!

Regarding the tip jar, given asking price and the amount of work and development time that goes into these plugins, I think that's fair to leave it there. Sorry you feel differently. That said, if you missed the 50% off beta code and paid full price, feel free to reach out and I'd be happy to issue you a partial refund.
Glad it's working for you though. That's what Stellarizer is all about.

I'm sorry you feel differently about tipping but I won't be the only one who dislikes it. I understand the effort and dedication you've made and the price should reflect this but be under no illusion this will piss off a lot of people even if they don't say anything.

I bought this and barely noticed the gumroad tip thing. Not sure how useful it will be for me, but given how cheap the other plugins were I dont really care all that much

There's no public discord for beta bugs, but since you found some, feel free to reach out and I'll address them.iowastate89 wrote: Mon Jul 27, 2026 11:05 am

This is very close to something I've been thinking about for a long time. One feature request: a button to click that would end the capture at an arbitrary moment (quantized if quantize is on)? So for example I could play something that i like, click "End Capture," and if what i played was some not-predetermined strange number of bars or beats it would play that back?

That's a good idea. I will add it to the long list for the next update. Lots of great suggestions so far. Thanks!tonycore wrote: Mon Jul 27, 2026 5:31 pm This is very close to something I've been thinking about for a long time. Looks like a very interesting plugin! I'll check out the video after work, but a quick question - is this monophonic only, or does it also work polyphonically?

I see the minimum for mac is 11.
Sometimes 11s also run under the previous, 10.14.
Do you know if it will?

Polyphonic recording is on the list for future updates. I had a sort of poly workflow during development but it wasn't working like I wanted. I'll continue tooling with it along with MIDI file import. Thanks for the suggestion.cryophonik wrote: Mon Jul 27, 2026 11:07 pm Looks like a very interesting plugin! I’ve run into too many compatibility issues supporting older macOS releases, so Stellarizer requires macOS 11 Big Sur or later. As you mentioned, macOS 11 is the current starting point.Michael L wrote: Tue Jul 28, 2026 2:49 am I see the minimum for mac is 11.
