Honestly, I love this instrument. However, the copy protection system is really restrictive:
As I understand it, it can only be installed on a single machine. That is very rare; most developers allow installation on multiple machines, and for good reason. It is common to have at least one computer for music production and a second one for live performance (a laptop, for instance). Most developers seem to allow three simultaneous activations.
Furthermore, the 7-day offline limit is a real hassle. For example, my audio computers are offline most of the time; to use CHOPGRID, I would have to go online just to run the instrument. It also creates a significant additional hurdle for live performance use.
It really is an incredible instrument, but all these excessive anti-piracy measures just penalize the user who actually buys a license. Even though I can clearly see how I would use this great tool, I won't buy it given all these constraints.
This is, of course, just the opinion of a potential buyer, but I felt it was important to share it with the developer.

These are valid concerns, let me have a think about how best to address them because they are valid feedback.. they werent arbitrary decisions for what its worth, especially the 7 day thing.. it was to do with licence revocation if people requested refunds, otherwise people would just buy it, get the licence and ask for a refund, then as long as the machine stayed offline, it would never reset the licence status..
But yep, this is more just being overly cautious to the detriment to the user, so will find a solution ..
thanks for the feedback

I bought it because it looked cool, and had a tempting price. It's definitely valid to allow up to three activations, but also the possibility to inactivate a license on a computer so the user can activate it on another. In this case I believe two active activations would suffice.

I highly suggest just trying the age old "trust the customer" approach. If it gets cracked, it gets cracked. If somebody is a dishonest ass and requests a refund and still uses the software after that, then they are a dishonest ass. It's a loss that you'll just have to be okay with. You get a lot more enthusiastic reliable users and show more respect for your own product if you make the copy protection as transparent as possible.
Yours is now adjacent to "always online" and it's a HUGE no-no in my opinion. Also not having multiple machine licenses is extremely rare and highly frowned upon. Personally I have an instant no-go clause in my brain if there's only a single machine license available (I have 3 different computers, all running my music software because they are all dedicated to different operation and physical locations).
Having said that, the software looks interesting. Will download the demo and check it out but do let us know if you update this to a less restricted license.. then I could even consider purchasing a license.

all good, have been reworking it tonight.. 95% done, just need to battle test it tomorrow and then can roll it out as 1.1.1
but yep, 2 seat licence, in vst/app "release seat" button or can be offline via the website..
have kept the 7 day licence check for the first 2 weeks just to deal with refund issue, but then its like yearly.. that said, that counter will reset every update, so.. realistically unless you never ever go online or never update again, it shouldnt really be an issue.
hopefully that is enough of a mea culpa ..

This looks like something I've wanted to build for a long time...loopmix was a close winner but it literally forces time stretching on your samples and works like absolute dogshit and they abandoned the project.
does your device also force timestretch? or do I have control over the playback pitch/speed. I'll definitely be checking this out after work! I basically work like this but manually across many tracks and always wanted a device to speed it up.
