saving ALL samples (and other data) in a song (dir)

I hate having to have static copies of my sample directories etc. in my ever-changing computing environment. and I'd like to be able to work with other people over the 'net as easily as possible.

(when using logic 5.5.1 i need to synchronize MANUALLLY: 1.sample directories 2.sampler instruments 3.patches 4.vst(i):s ... and the guy I work with has to have the exactly same directory (and HD) structure)

so I've been trying to find software that, like in the good ol' tracker days, can save everything I need for a song into one file (or directory). and I need this to be automatic, 'cause I'm lazy ;)

this info seems to be really hard to google (I am trying all the time), so I'll ask you guys =) I posted in the samples section because sampling seems to be the biggest, realistic problem to solve.

I know this can be pretty hard to achieve with vst-installations in question, so I'll assume that every computer setup I want to open the file(s) with have all the same vst(i)s installed.

but what about the rest?

- all vst parameters are pretty well saved into the song files these days so I think that's not an issue amymore

- I guess reaktor patches can't be done anything about. afaIk there's no way a host can automatically tell reaktor to save the patch into a specific directory? what about other (good, versatile) modular instruments? I know In synthedit instruments you don't have to load the patches seperately, but you'd still have to synch the resulting vst(i) itself.

what about other modulars in this aspect (vaz modular, moog modular...) ? can they save all data needed into the song? and if they can, are they even nearly as versatile as reaktor/se?

- samples directly in the host. I know some hosts can save all the audio tracks into a single folder even if they are originally loaded from disc:

emagic logic, the mac versions.

sonar

all trackers afaik

I guess cubase?

and I guess many more, too. I just feel left behind 'cause I'm stuck on this old logic until I change brand or get a mac ;) .. would still be nice if you named some that can do this. but the biggest question of all lies still ahead:

- eventually this post seems to culminate into samplers. which samplers can do, even partly, what i'm looking for?

muzys: the sampler built into muzys could save all the samples used in the song into the song file. this would be the best way of doing things, but muzys isn't being developed anymore, and doesn't have all the other features I want. and even if it would, I'm not going to switch to another host that's not developed anymore. I need one that I can count on for years.

energyxt: I heard that energyxt is going to have /some/ way of collecting files. no clue yet ...

trackers again: I think I can mention trackers here, too, because ... well, you know .. ;) (the samples ar e pitchable and "playable")

audiomulch: aiui audiomulch will save the used samples with the song. I haven't yet tried it out, though.

cm sr-202: aiui can save all the samples into the vst bank (.fxb?) ? but this has to be saved separately, right?

any hosts that can automatically save the .fxb:s, too into a single location? this could aiui help, too.

so .. any other solutions to my problem? the sampler instruments seems to be the biggest problem.

bottom line:

I would need a host that can automatically either save all samples (sampler instruments, or by other means at least pitched samples, too) used in a song to the song file and/or to a single directory.

or then I would need a sampler that automatically saves all used samples into a single directory or file.

thanks
m
