Speaking of wrappers: Cakewalk's incarnation of FXpansion's wrapper was a nightmare for me. I made the mistake of letting it find plug-ins while I was installing Sonar 4 PE. It had problems with a lot of the plug-ins I have. Anyone else have this problem? Fortunately, I still had my registered version of FXpansion's VST Plug-in Adapter v4.1 and it works flawlessly with every VST plug-in I have, and I have a lot of them. Thank God I kept it.

Well, actually ACID Pro 5, along with most, if not all, VST compatible apps use a wrapper of some kind.
Unless you are Steinberg (which invented VST), and are using Steinberg's own native VST effects, only then you would have truly "native support" :) . But then even Nuendo 2 has a VST-DX wrapper dll for third party VST's. So does ACID 5 (which now claims native vst support), with it's own VST-DX wrapper (sfvstwrap.dll). Sound Forge 8, BTW, is using the same wrapper, albeit, possibly an updated one. So does Magix with Samplitude 7.2, (FxVdx.dll), which coincidentally, is the same FXpansion wrapper that Cakewalk and the UAD-1 uses, except an earlier 3.x version. Cakewalk just released a new and improved version with the SONAR 4.02 update (v4.4.4.63). They are all using wrappers to some extent. As an end user, the bottom line still is.....does your host app successfully use VST/VSTi & DX/DXi plugins or not. In using many various host apps, I have rarely found any VST's (and I have hundred's of them) that would not work. Are there some exception's, with certain wrapper's, sure there is. But there are no inherent drawbacks to using wrapper's, everyone is using them to one extent or another.

What I like about the new SF8 update, besides the new VST & ASIO compatibility, is that CD Architect has been updated to 5.2 and is now included & integrated into SF8. Also, the updated CDA 5.2, now includes CD Text reading/writing support and has it's own version of WaveLab's Audio Montage called Audio Layering :)
