I guess this is a question for the more senior members of the forum!

I have a soft spot for their old music, and they are playing in our small city where hardly anyone ever comes to play...

I'm wondering if they might be worth seeing, anyone seen them recently? If so, are they doing lots of their old trippy music???

I have the Moody Blues "Live at the Royal Albert Hall" DVD recorded in May 2000 with the World Festival Orchestra playing on some songs.

It is an excellent concert with performances of many of the older songs.
Perhaps you could rent or borrow it to see if it's what you'd like to see.

Some of the setlist includes:
Tuesday Afternoon
The Story in your Eyes
Isn't Life Strange
Just a singer in a Rock&Roll Band
Nights in White Satin
Legend of a Mind
Question
Ride my see-saw

Hope that helps.

I haven't seen them since about '79. I thought it was pretty cool seeing a real live band from the 60's. They looked very old to me at the time.

Our band did a lot of their songs and I remember thinking how cool it would have been to have a real mellotron. 8)

Yeah but Justin Hayward still has a GREAT voice.
besides if looking 200 was a judge of musical ability, Keith Richards and Mick Jagger would be in a home somehwere.

That's interesting. Dutch guitar player Jan Akkerman is 58 too, and plays like a young God, smoking some 20-30 cigarettes a day for a decade didn't kill his fingers you can see :D (know a fan of Akkerman who is 17 :D ). Well, what has this to do with the Moody Blues? Nothing really, but I always search to find a place to say something about famous dutch guitarists, and they are both born 1946 :D

cheers. I never saw the band, but out of curiosity I'd go there. (But Jan Akkerman played in Hamburg 2004 with Mr.Lukather, a Jimi-Hendrix-concert, and I was at Heidelberg :x :x . So maybe someone would tell you "ey was great why didn't you come  )

Saw them in Delaware USA at an outdoor concert a few years ago.....they were fantastic. They had 2 drummers and two synth players, and Justin sounded great. Also saw that Albert Hall video awhile ago, and it was even better! I highly recommend going. 8)
