Just wondering, do you guys visit other music forums that cover things KVR doesn't (other than manufacturer's forums)?

I've been to other forums off and on, but KVR is the only place I return to almost on a daily basis. This place just f**king rocks. I go to some smaller forums like studiocentral, but the traffic is too slow--not enough posts.

The only other large-sized music forum (comparable to KVR)I know is futureproducers.com, and that place just grates on my nerves. Most members there are uncultured morons compared to the members here at KVR (although there are cool members there too, but they are few and far between). Going through some of the threads there, I just get the urge to smash something. I go back once a while to see if things improve, but nope, still flooded by a bunch of wannabe "dope beat makers" that might have problem even graduating high school. I need to delete that bookmark from my browser and never return. KVR and Nothern Sound Source are all I'll ever need--unless you guys have more suggestions.

I pop by lots of other ones here and there, but I'm usually on the sectionz forums (which aren't too busy but are getting better), or here :)

I am always dissapointed by the traffic on other forums, I am amazed by the response of feedback you get on KvR

I'd bore my arse off if I had to stay on one forum all the time.
Apart from sound on sound, northern sounds
and future producers as already mentioned I visit:

CM/FM forum: http://forum.midiaddict.com/
Harmony central: http://www.harmony-central.com
cubase forum: http://forum.cubase.net/phpbb2/
Unless of course you have cubase it might not be that relevant, but you can still post a tune there though

Dogs On Acid: The Grid <-- High traffic, and definitely one of the best on the net for technical, useful production advice.
Blackout Audio Techno Production Forum <-- Savvy producers, but much less traffic than DOA.
TranceAddict Production Forum <-- High traffic, but signal-to-noise ratio a bit poor unfortunately.
USH.NET Hardcore Production Forum <-- The "Big Book of <Sequencer>" threads are worth a look, but like tranceaddict, useful advice/discussion is uncommon.

is there a world outside KvR?

Good forums are few. I share the opinions expressed about FP. DOA is a drum&bass specialist thing, so it does not fancy me too much. I visit many developers and manufacturers forums for technical issues. The Northern sounds forum is very usefull for the more clasical & orchestration oriented music, but do not sneeze there on the king's shoes or you're banned.

But production's production, so although talk of amens and reeses may not be much use to you, there's plenty of stuff on topics that apply to any genre there.

I like the genre-specific forums because people are more inclined to ask about a specific problem or how to get a specific sound. On generic boards like this, there's a lot of theory and abstract talk, but less solid and practical advice than genre-specific forums. Discussion of toys versus discussion of techniques.

IMO. :)
