it's true, lots of churches need more people for the choir
if you're interested, i and farbrausch both have free vst plug-ins capable of configuring for "synging"
flinger is another viable, tho non-vst free option.

True: It needs de-essing, it needs to be re-pronounced (the "ing" syllable is missing the "g", for example), the EQ needs to be re-tweaked a lot, and my taste in reverb is questionable.
And applying De-essing sometimes drastically changes the mix a lot, to the point of unintelligibility - there are some consonants in Virtual Singer that are just not "right". So this was a quick-and-dirty job, for sure. The guys at Myriad have built in a way to supplant them with samples, but I haven't gotten around to fiddling with it.
And maybe I just didn't look hard enough, but I didn't see how to fully control the words in synger (or any of the other vocal-like vsts). At least nothing easy. And I certainly didn't have the patience for flinger or mbrola, lazy-ass bum that I am.
And apologies to all (at this point) for the bandwidth overload - my site will be back on in a week. Knew I shoulda waitied. And thanks, I'll get the links fixed.

it b'aint easy.. phonemes are selected w/ notes in the upper keyboard range .: all concatenative timing has to be instituted by the user.
imo doesn't get long to get used to, if you're 'thinking phonemes' (and have a host with 960ppqn) i do most of my sequences by playing a short (eg. 1/2m loop) and manually adjusting each note for fluidity.
haven't used farbrausch, but i understand you trigger words instead.. more intelligible like harmony assistant too.

The nasty ol' bandwidth limitations have been reset for those that got locked out last week. Sorry 'bout that.
I've tweaked the mixes a bit, too.
