Amplitube vs. Guitar Rig

when i compare clean tone from Amplitube with clean tone from Guitar Rig I think Amplitube sounds better. I guess comparing Ampilutbe with Guitar Rig is like comparing multieffect pedal+average amp to rather decent amp. I usually tend to go for rather decent amp than average amp+multieffect pedal...

How does Trash fit into all this? That's the route I'm going. I'm sold on iZotope's stuff at this point and I love the Trash demo. Just waiting on ttoz to get the license transer done and I'm gold.

Plus, nobody in that poll had PROPERLY used all those different options. Most of us just voted for what we know or what we believed from the hype machines. I voted for Green Machine II, but the only other of those that I had demoed were Amplitube, Warp, and the freebies. I can't even remember what Warp was LIKE any more... though it's cheap at the local music shop right now........

Okay. You want to know the truth? AmpliTube does sound better in a lot of cases. Not all. Guitar Rig is not quite as good on the modeling but the extra bells and whistles make it more appealing perhaps. But, AmpliTube 2 on the other hand I have come to the point now where I feel it is far beyond any of the amp modeling out there. I have been an amp and stomp box collector. I've spent thousands of dollars on that stuff and there was a reason- to get the authentic sound of certain guitar players (and to have a great guitar sound in general). AmpliTube 2 is the FIRST amp modeling that makes me actually think that I don't need to own as many real amps and stomp boxes. It has the tone I am looking for when recording yet has all of the flexibility you get from the individual modeled components.
So, if you were to say AmpliTube 2 vs. Guitar Rig I think that there is a big difference. Kontakt 2 I think is great and Battery 2 I am excited about. But, Guitar Rig is not the same level excitement to me. AT2 is full on. I cannot wait until it is out. I will use this on everything. Really.

i tried both and they sound pretty shitty to me.
the hi gain modeling is almost unuseable with both plugins. guitar rig has a nice flexible interface and cool effects.
for hi quality amp and speaker modeling no vst plugin comes close to my pod xt.

own amplitube and guitar rig....tried the Pod...my opinion amplitube has a better more 'full' sound unlike guitar rig which is very sterile .wheres that full bodied flavor!?!
u know....thats just my humble opinion though
amplitube 2 though looks juicy..will wait and see
btw.. the gtr rig foot pedal...POS...feels like a toy company made it
oh well just my thoughts...

I know a Marshall stack sounds better than a VST, but that's not the point or the question.
So, I've been messing about with all the available plugs, and my conclusion is none of them are better. It all depends on what you need in your tune or the style you're playing. Rock Amp Legends, for example, has a really warm tone and sits really good in open mixes like reggae, from my limited experience. But I'd never say it's better than Guitar Rig.
Too bad I can't afford all the plugs
I guess I'll stick with AmplitubeLE. Guitar Rig's hardware seemed like a good idea though.

this is Amplitube (version 1) vs. gutiar rig.
in that case, guitar rigs modeling AND bells and whistles are better.
