Studiophonik is expected to be released in the spring of 2005
Lest I be misunderstood, let me preface my sarcasm with saying I am a HUGE fan of IK/SR products and the proud owner of ST2, SS2 and several expansions. :D And, I have been drooling over Studiophonik since it was pre-announced last year.

That said, given the recent history of release dates, what's your guess on what "spring of 2005" means. I'm guessing August

I suppose that isn't so bad. I should just be about finished with auditioning all the sounds in ST2 and SS2 about then.

Studiophonik is the one I have been waiting for.

The only reservation I have it (as a guitar player and bass player) I hope that there will be enough piano. horns, drums etc to justify the expense.

The idea is brilliant, though.

All things being equal, I'd rather be behind a board - with loads of vintage outboard gear, mics, and a good sounding room - than anything else in the world.

One thing I'm not totally clear on with Studiophonik. Are the guitar/bass elements samples, or are they effects for guitar/bass players?

Post

They are samples and the whole "mix" section is sample crossfading and switching.

August? I hope it's earlier but it could be. We're wanting to get it done as soon as possible but yet we're taking our time to do it right.

It's worth it even just for the drums. The piano and horns are very good but they are mostly there to fill out the band but not to be so brand intensive as the gtr, bass and drums. There's also some nice percussion in there too.

Sounds great,,, welcome back squids!

Down here in the Southern Hemisphere, August is Spring!
