But IMO a DJ manipulates other peoples records in a club for people to dance to, not their own material that they release under their own name/guise.
And yes, Orbital used to play very different versions of their songs live. Havnt seen Autechre live, but I suspect that they do that.
Anyway you can be a studio-only band very easily: doesnt make you a DJ
