NOMEANSNO lyrics are about a billion times better than Rush's nonsensical shit. Geddy Lee sounds like a cross between an old woman dying and an elf being tortured. :D
Most of these Rush heads could not handle NOMEANSNO. :hihi:

The drum sounds alone are worth the money.
The whole *point* of Rush was that the drummer was so damn good that they let him write those sappy lyrics..... :hihi:

I really don't think that matters at this point, I mean that voice has made him a penny or two....after 30 years I'm sure there are more people who would disagree...

nobody has mentioned Zebra, who IMHO was another amazing three piece band...they just didn't catch on enough for some reason... :(

you can't call him a drummer imo, I'm sorry peart takes it far beyond drumming, percussionist is a better term but still lacking...instead of providing just a beat his playing is another musical instrument as well (often times electronic triggers)

I like the lyrics...but then I'm kinda sappy... :hihi:

Bow down before the awesome power, glory, and sheer brilliance of Geddy and company. People who talk bad about them are nothing but a bunch of blasphemers.

One could argue that Rush was popular in spite of Geddy's voice and they would have been a lot more popular in the mainstream if they had a singer who's voice people found more agreeable. I know I'd be able to stand them a lot more with another singer.

Anyway.....It's all about NOMEANSNO. Rush aint worthy to lick the sweat off their balls. :D

I can't argue because I haven't heard them...besides my music tastes are beyond crazy.. :hihi: If I told you some old stuff I love you'd die....like Sweet....I'm a huge Sweet fan, did you know for a while their songwriting team, (which were not members) wrote songs for Pat benatar, plus she did a sweet cover. (no you don't)...I like Jimmy Buffet and saw Iron Maiden 9 times, I like Jerry Reed, George Thorogood, Dave Edmunds...and I have all ozzy albums......and then I love everything shenker (micheal and rudolph or both) I love Steve Miller, old Giles, but I only can tollerate two songs since A-smiths rocks (draw the line and Kings and queens)...my music taste is quite literally acdc to zztop...zappa's a must, but yes doesn't do it for me...I like the allman brothers, molly hatchet, blackfoot, and skynyrd...but only like maybe two eagles songs....you never know what you'll hear coming from my house I even like about 6 songs from styx, and have several triumph albums too.. :help:

edit...one band I love is queensryche

I think I hate every band and musician you listed except Steve Miller. Nomeansno is kind of like a hardcore sound meets prog-rock musical ideas....or something.

probably best live band i ever saw, NMN.

though i got a little ... bored of the albums. maybe i just got interested in other stuff but i found from '... mr happy?' onwards a bit ... predictable.

gimme the holy trinity of 'day everything ...', 'small parts ...' and 'wrong' (sheesh, 'Wrong' what an album!)

but no songs about elves.
