hi
just bought MicroDicer. It's not bad, although its slicing is not optimal.
It's great for using rex1&2 files in it (apparently recycle does a much better job at slicing).
I guess I could hand-correct the slice positions and add new slices (which it can do) but I'm lazy.
k
(looking for downloadable rex files now, anybody know of some good ones?)

Oh,
what I meant was, it takes some time to slice it exactly right in MicroDicer, and rex loops are usually already well sliced and play fine in MD.
no offense.

All you beat-slicing, groove-chopping, sample-twistin' guys really ought to check out this company...

The make a couple of apps which I'm sure some of you will love...
To be honest, I'm surprised they're not mentioned that often here at KVR...

Yep, I saw that too. He said he couldnt' reveal a feature list yet, but that we should read Sascha's "dream slicer" post....Sascha Franck wrote:We'll see if I can sue his ass then!Lance Vance wrote:i heard something about the creator of phatmatik were mention something about phatmatik 2 being the Sascha Franck's dream sampler/slicer thing..
If he backs up those words with deeds, then PP2 ought to be very nice indeed. I'm also looking forward to Drum9, but that'll be more toward the high end of the price spectrum, I believe.

Well, for a slicer alone it's too expensive.Bigg John wrote: What about vsampler 3 ???? it has a slicer, does anyone know how well it works ????
And as a full sampler I didn't like it at all whenever I tried it.
Btw, Kontakt has a slicer as well, which is working not too bad - but the dedicated tools just get the job done better.
And, as far as my dream drum machine goes - well, none of the existing "full" samplers is coming even halfway close.
IMO there's quite a few good reasons why there's dedicated drum samplers. Such as easier access to zones/cells, more flexibility when tweaking them, perhaps some synthesizer features per zone/cell, etc.
