This person does indeed exist. I forget her name, but she lives in Washington State and owns hundreds of synths...

Hundreds of them.
Amanda Pelk. www.cikira.com

maybe it's the vast array of old analog gear surrounding her, but she's kinda hot... ;)

EDIT: not that i'm a fan or anything, just happen to not throw away any back issues of keyboard and dug up the one with her in it :D

and how the f**k is she supposed to make music? I mean, I have less than fifteen synth plugins, and all my inspiration is gone... :hihi:

I'll take just this little section, and make music for years.

cikira seem to have Nord Lead 1, 2, 3...

anyway, here's another one that may give cikira run for her money.

it's an esub article though. :p

she runs a couple old ass macs with opcode systems on them to sequence. she probably makes the most depressingly generic tarnce in all of creation.

my question has always been... you have all that money to buy all those synths, and you run them through f**king mackie boards? that's women for ya ;)

Post

I doubt those are all intended for music making. I mean, she's got two Virus C's! One is a limited edition, no less. And who needs a Korg X5D when you've already got so much other stuff? This can only be for the sake of collecting.

Well, at least I can think of more expensive collecting hobbies (cars and photography come to mind).

And did you see the pictures of that house? She must have one hell of a sugar daddy!

Amazing

Read the interview with her.
No, I'm not rich! But I have been fortunate and careful with money, and there are many things I have avoided spending money for in order to develop my studio and build my dream house.
Did you see the dog collection? ($2000 a piece)

The impression I got from the interview is that she is more of a collector and that she is interested more in the technical side then actually making music.
Note there is no music on the site except for songs comming soon (that looks like it's there for a few years)
She also admits that she is a Dancer and Collector first, musician second.

Anyway I think if I had all my VSTs as hardware my room would look just like that.

So she lives her dream the American way BIG!
Good for her.

OK lets recap....

She got married at NAMM...
Bob Moog appeared to give the bride away...
Definent ties to the industry...

This is NOT the American way....for if it was, why wasn't Bob at my wedding...DAMN!
The armchair is more than the sum of the bastards

she looks porn with the glasses. perfect for some *teacher* episode.

Amazing, all those keyboards and not one piano or piano derivative (rhodes, wurli). Sell the lot and buy a Fazioli that'll give her minimalist although she might have to then play.
