A#7th is the same as Bflat 7th which is

A# - D - F - G#

Post

Of course.................Well any advice on theory would come in handy my friend

Post

books and practice are my advice if you want to learn theory. you can find good thery guides on the interweb by searching google. I dont have any goo dbook names for piano off hand, but when I get home I will try to remember to look...

The F# would be the major 7th, any "7th" chord is really a minor seventh which is why its a semitone lower...

Post

Thanks for that...............I see I have a lot to,learn I am having problems understanding the web site that you gave me......

But any advice is always welcome..........Thanks for taking time out bud..

A#7 is the major chord with the 7th added.
A#m7 is the minor chord with the 7th added
A#Maj7th would be the major 7th on the major chord
A#mmaj7th is the minor chord with the major 7th.

but all can be written in other ways...

Post

Isn't A# - D - F - G major?
A# - D - F# would be augmented afaik. (My music theory knowledge sucks a bit)

Post

There is no A#7 if you are sticking to the tones of the Bmajor scale. A# is the 7th degree of the scale from which is built a diminished chord (A# C# E).

To clarify this is where the confusion is coming from, F# is in the Bmajor scale but not the A#7 chord (which has an F).
