nutsadamus, they're all automatically clipped. I find that under 5 msec is fine for my purposes, and it requires careful manual wave editing to do much better. After all, 5 msec is equivalent to moving the speaker 5 feet further. While that affects image, I don't hear it as a timing issue. Hopefully not too many are over 5 msec.
S_A_P, let me know if you're interested in tools that help automatically assemble the soundfont from a large set of samples. These tools assume you sample all the notes for a given velocity layer in one file. They take the set of layer sample files and some control info and build a keyboard map and produce a sf2 file. They run under Python, a script language like Perl, that you'd need to install (from www.python.org).
I use n-Track DAW to record the samples, so I can stop in the middle of a velocity layer if I want and consolidate the file later.
These tools let me quickly go from a set of samples to a playable soundfont, to see whether I did it right or not. If I decide to do some processing on the original layer files, I can just pull the trigger and rebuild the whole font & try again.

I'm just trying to mirror it at Audioshots... let's see how well that will work.
Will post the link as soon as it's done.

My domain service provider sucks.
Fortunately, the files are still available at
http://artistcollaboration.com/~learjeff/sf
My domain should be back up one of these days, with the explanations and descriptions, etc.
Please don't distribute this link, just consider it a temporary short cut. And thanks Sasha for mirroring.
BTW, there's now a looped version which is much smaller, and a stereo version (also looped).
Enjoy!
Jeff

Another mirror here:
http://www.soundfonts.it/soundfonts/mirror/jRhodes3.zip
sfPack'ed then Zip'ed (my host provider doesn't allow .sfArk and .sfPack extensions...)
Download sfPack here if you don't have it: http://www.soundfonts.it/sfark_sfpack.zip

Thanks, guys. Feel free to mirror the looped font. Or the stereo one too, but it has a bug -- the samples for one note (G3) in one layer (don't remember which) is missing, so the neighboring notes get stretched further than they should have.

After much hair-pulling and gnashing of teeth (mostly on the part of my deeply dedicated and trustworthy web service provider, Sully at artistcollaboration.com), my domain name is finally registered again.
Learjeff.com is back up!
In addition, I've fixed the stereo Rhodes sample sf so that it decays now. (The first post of the stereo Rhodes had loops with no decays programmed, so notes would sustain forever.)
See "Soundfonts" at my site for more info.
Thanks again to the folks who mirrored. You guys can feel free to continue to mirror, but please post a link to my site for details. (You can post a link to my home page or my sf page, whichever you prefer, but the sf page is probably more direct for the clickers.)
Regards,
Jeff

Cheers, James!
BTW, folks, look for this at http://learjeff.net/sf/sf.html.
Learjeff.com will experience a burp whenever I can get the old provider to relinquish it and move it to my new space.
