Cubase Effects

Im using Cubase 1.something and im trying to equalize a midi channel and also run it through some vst effects. I know I could do this in Fruity Loops so why cant I do it in cubase? No where in the operation manual does it say you can do so and there are no options for it anywhere. There are some pretty useless midi effects that came with it but why cant I use my own VST ones on it. It only lets me run them on audio tracks.

you've spent a lot of money (FL, Cubase) without an understanding of how it all works
you need to add the vst effects to the audio output of the vst instruments, via the cubase mixer. Just like you did in the FL mixer.
