Any TheExtractor users out there?

I find the concept of generating midi from audio in realtime really cool, even useful.

I've just tried the demo of TheExtractor from TazMan Audio and it seems like a good plugin (nice price too!). The demo has its restrictions. It switches on and off very frequently, which causes noise and weird behaviour, and every now and then you get the windows exlamation sound and a dialog box in your face. Extremely annoying. Actually this makes it very hard to tell how well the program really works. Also I can't seem to get it to reject low volume signals by means of the input gate.

I'd like to know from someone using this effect if you're happy with it and maybe you can even say a few words about how you're supposed to use that input gate correctly? I'd like to know if/how that works before I buy.

I apologise if you find the demo restrictions annoying, I am surprised
that the reminder comes up every 30 seconds since it was supposed to
come every 3 minutes.

Nevertheless we understand that the demo is very limiting and we are
planning to remove the reminder dialog box and increase the time you are
allowed to do pitch tracking. Unfortunately the new demo version wont be
available for a couple of days since we are in the process of releasing
an updated version with bug fixes and more features.

not expensive and in my opinion the most easy to use .
i use it in live session xith a clarinet...it works great
the demo is only time limited
