sorry to interrupt...ok just getting back to the original topic here.. how can u make rap/hip hop better? i thnk getting rid of aome of the attitude would help.. well i would appreciate it. I'm just sick of all the egos, the stuck upness, the hos, the pimps, and all that stupid crap. These days i hate hip hop/rap videos as much as the songs. What people dont realise is that rap/hip hop has now become a paroody of itself. The whole thing has gone too far, it's ridiculous. Let's think about it.. if you wanna be successful in this genre.. u have to be more arrogant and have more attitude than everyone else.. u have to have more bikini chiks in your video than everybody else, you have to have more souped cars in your video than everyone else.. oh and dont forget that stupid group dancing bit.. i mean its one thing to have a few backup dancers in your video.. but these days they seem to multiply... i mean whats next.. a whole satioum full of dancers dancing to your song? yeah right.. and whats with ego like this?? - i forgot the name of the dude.. but i saw this video on mtv, and this dude's song was called 'welcome back' and he was singing about himself!!! what kind of ego is that? you write a song about yourself.. named welcome back.. as in welcoming yourself back to the scene?? it's shit like this that i cannot stand. So, the answer is .. easy off all the crap!!!! get back to the roots and simple things that got this whole party started in the first place. Oh.. and it'd be great if rnb and hip hop stoped dominating the world charts.. the last thing this world needs is more brainwashing by america... noone is interested in your past life in the hood, or how many cars you have or how many chiks u slpt with... enough already!

yes, just remember that all that "ego" isn't a "rap thing," it's a consumerist thing..

you get some rapper, pay him enuff to make the commoners jealous, then mass produce it so every fearful white boy can roll around in his sports pick-up blasting the shit into his brain about how good it feels to own stuff and have power and how "right" "power" "is"

eg. once again that centralised models are the way to fly
you come and go, you come and go. amitabha neither a follower nor a leader be tagore "where roads are made i lose my way" where there is certainty, consideration is absent.

Maybe this "true" hip-hop site can answer this question of mine:

I was reviewing some hip hop on garageband last night. Their was this group called the "pale Ridaz" on there and their big song was "I dig gravez" From the title you could guess what the subject matter was- It was 3 minutes of fantisizing about murder, violence and other crap. I got to thinking, what could happen in someones life that would make this kind of behavior seem necessary? It really blows my mind that people could find it reasonable to take someones life as a way to sort out your problems.

Hollywood builds an industry on the glorification of violence and that's cultural heritage.
A few black blokes sing about it and that's the breakdown of society.

I agree nuffink, hollywood does it worse than just about anyone. Incidentally I saw this news story on yahoo

I get the impression that the hip/hop that bothers most people in here is the black/non-singing equivalent of Britney Spears. Does anyone here complain about that music? I'd say no, we all know it's irrelevant and dumb. The big names in hiphop are just as irrelevant.

A friend of mine (he's well into his 60s) took me to see and hear Shotgun wedding hiphop symphony the other day. That was an eye-opener.

Who here is actually makin money producing hip hop?

It seems like everybody wants all the "big ego's", and "subject matter" to change, but I see a lot of big ego's on this thread. I think its egotistical to try to change a whole genre into something YOU can appreciate.

How can you make hip hop better if you're not a hip hop producer? I've never been to a hip hop forum and seen "How can we make Ambient music better". I personally dont even consider "Ambient" as music. Its just sound to me. So if you ask me how to make it better, I'm gonna say uh....add drums and a beat and a bassline! But ofcourse I'm not a ambient "music" producer so I dont feel qualifyed to know what would make it better or worse.

A good number of KVR members had a lot of fun complaining (or bashing) pop divas in general.

And the majority said that Celine Dion was the worst.
