which is Arturias best synth?

If by best, most faithful to the original, it may very well be the CS-80V. I think that the Gmedia Minimonster will take the MinimoogV, and I think that Wayoutwares 2600 will take the 2600V. Owners of the Yamaha CS-80 have good things to say about the CS-80V.

Some may then take the attitude (and perhaps with good cause) that the only reason the CS80 emulation is the best is because there's been no other serious attempt made at emulating it yet!

I think their Moog Modular V is simply amazing.
At 48k on a Dual 2.0 G5 in Logic,
I'm completely blown away.
I'd been using it on a single 1.4ghz G4, and it was already great.
Now, it's just fooking unbelievable.

IMHO the CS-80V is their best by quite a margin. It has the most "original" character. The filter really does remind me of early yamaha analogue filters. It has that same 'zing' to it. I don't like their mini moog and neither the modular. The arp I still need some more time with the demo but right now it feels like it's quite nice on it's own. Definately prefere it over the moog V modular.

I have a CS-80V and I simply love it, it has its own sound and does what I want it to do

On the other hand I must admit that Arturia hyped too much their technology not supporting it with an adequate substance, Minimonsta and TW2600 are the living arguments to my thoughts
.
Anyway I know they are very responsive, talking about my personal experience, and I suggest the Arturia synth owners to take active part in the forums @Arturia site to push them to a better quality in their products.Especially for the CS-80V
PS: many people talks about the fact that timbrically the CS-80V isn't close to the real thing : even if it's obvious ,no analogue synth sounds *exactly* the same, one compared to his brother and , for my experience with the hard CS-80 , the soft emulation captures the 90% of the original filters' behaviour ,if not 100%. However some differences are hearable.Anyway ,as any human thing ,even this is perfectible. Please ,to the CS-80V owners , go to the Arturia forums ,read my suggestions about how to better tweak it and share your opinions!

I just tried the demo for the ARP and am not really that impressed with the sound. I have forked out a lot of money to Arturia in the past year but don't plan on getting this.
The Moog Modular 2 and Minimoog V are both outstanding sounding softsynths. Although the Minimoog V isn't a dead on emulation of the original, it has some of the best bass sounds I have found in a vsti(K.U_ELPevil for example).
The Moog Modular sounds very much like the original in most settings. The only softsynth I've seen beat it(barely)is the creamware(hardware card) moog emulation.
The CS-80V is probably the closest emulation that ARTURIA has put out, but I have never been a big CS-80 fan so my opinion is probably biased towards prefering the Moog and MiniMoog emu's.
Again, I found the Arturia ARP 2600 a little on the weak side. The GUI is very nice though, has the 3 dimensional look similar to Korgs MS-20 vsti.

Crimsontider is right: some work has to be done on 2600 and Mini emulation ( btw 4 what 'tis worth I'm not a big Moog fan myself, preferring somehow the "japanese" CS-80V sound...de gustibus non disputandum est ),and of course on CS-80V too...although I still wonder wheter in the world is there a need for two Arp 2600 and dozens of Minimoog and MoogMod emulations (well you can all say the market will support only one of them...!).
Arturia people must understand that they need a "less hype, more substance" policy ( although I still will support them because they gave me what I've been waiting for, a CS-80 emulation)if they don't want to close their barracks too soon!
Hope they will hear us...

Actually, I played with the Arp & liked the sound ALOT, but I can't deal with photorealistic modular interfaces.
I'm thinking Zebra II will be my modular of choice
