It's the same with Reason - plenty of people here are prpared to flame it as a program because they didn't like version 1, even though the program has radically improved since then...LoRez wrote: The other sad (and rather telling) thing is that this thread was about version2...and here we are talking about the original release in no time flat. I just find it wierd that sometimes the most vocal poeple on this forum regarding P5 are people who tried it in one way or another at the initial release and don't even use it anymore.

They seem willing to address live features, not many software are good in that area, it is about time... so the way they describe it they got my attention but I have never liked Cakewalk soft before...

That's the cost of dongle-free, C/R-free living. And at least with Sonar 4P, they tell you that up-front when you install, and it's well-known here.ttoz wrote:and dont forget once you buy it you are stuck with it for life..
It also invokes the mantra "Try the demo. Try the demo."
For what it's worth, if you haven't registered it, then you can sell it... but you can't download fixes.

Does anyone know if this new version will have automation envelopes ontop of tracks? (like in ableton live) This is probably one of the most important featues that a sequencer must have (imo).
I dont know how to get that into the developers heads.
The new features look very promising. I hope the gui is going to be totally streamlined and redesigned because v1 sucked big time.

The Cakewalk press release for v2 mentions "in track automation". I would assume this means that it will have automation envelopes on top of tracks (on top = in track ?)
