Harbal

One of the Elevayta plug-ins can do it, but I can't ever remember which one since it's not truly 'intended' for that sort of thing and it just happens that you can do it. FreEQ Boy maybe?

Voxengo has several plug that can do this. And they do more as well but ozone 3 is good too. The Voxengo plugs are sweet and the cost is resonable when compaired to ozone3. But the Ozone3 suite is a mastering bundle and while Voxengo has a mastering bundle as well it would be hard to say which one is the best for a particular porpose without more detail. :D
Pentagon,z3ta+,Tassman,Vsampler 3,FM7,Vocator,Sonar 3 Producer,SoundForge,Awave,Vegas 5
SFZ+,P5. And two kick ass DawBox machines!

I hope you're not expecting to rely on any of these programs to master your material for you, because they don't work that way. What they can do is give you an idea of what needs to be tidied up a bit, show you how your mix stands up to whatever mix you put it against, and provide some insight as to what you did wrong in your mix, but they won't give you great sounding masters any of the time. They especially will not do this in any copy/paste fashion. If you feel your tracks aren't EQ'd properly or just don't sound as good as you want them to, look at your sounds, inputs, soundcard, and mixing first, don't expect to copy and paste an EQ curve from a hit song apply it to yours and have a master. In fact EQing is only one small part of mastering, there's also limiting, compression, checking of the stereo field, leveling the tracks, bass levels, placing the tracks in order and deciding how they work together (how long the pauses are, do they fade in to one another, etc), just to name a few. If you're unsure of how good your mixes sound post a few, you'll get some great pointers here, and that could help you out. Also, I know it costs money, but consider getting things professionally mastered once your mixes sound good. A good mastering engineer will make your mix sound better than you could ever have even dreamt possible, or do very little to at all but make some minor adjustments depending on what's necessary. If you're new to making music, don't even worry about mastering, work on your mixing and recording skills. Once you have your chops, you'll find that a simple limiter will be enough to make CDs for yourself, friends, even a potential label, and if you're looking to release a CD professionally then you can always have something sent out to a professional mastering engineer.
I'm sorry this post wasn't about techno.

That's cool advice Funkybot - although freq matching is fun to try sometimes...hehe.

But seriously, the tracks all have to be balanced in the mix so you don't have to try to fix things in the master which is mostly impossible for us mortals. One way to get a good reference for how to balance EQ and Dynamics of tracks is to simply listen to instrument samples and compare them with your tracks - samples are everywhere in Music magazines. Also get some CD-maxi versions with a cappella versions of commercial cuts (remember that these are already mastered and limited). There's stuff on the internet to listen to like Gwen Stefani acappella of Hella Good (if you like that kinda stuff). All that can help hammer tracks into shape.

Other tools that can copy EQ references are Firium and CurveEQ. I don't have any tools that copy dynamics (are there any ?) - I just watch the rms/peak rms crest in Voxengo SPAN to help me judge dynamics & EQ of the tracks. Then push the mix into Voxengo Elephant to adjust the final dynamics.

My chain (for this week) is:
Tracks -> SonitusEQ -> Soniformer -> Polysquasher
Mix -> Elephant

The Sonitus EQ is usally just taking the low bass out of a track if it's unnecessary. I use Soniformer to limit any dynamic bumps or excessive peaks (instead of a surgical EQ) - to smooth the track (if it needs it). Then Polysquasher makes the track the correct size to fit into the mix. All of those plugs are very transparant.

Elephant makes the entire mix however loud or whatever size (however you think of this) you want. It can also just clip a tiny bit off the top, if that's what you want, and set a digital ceiling.

All of these plugs can beautify or crucify the music - just depends what you want and how you use them!

'FreEq Boy' is the tool you are looking for.

Smart idea:
"clone the eq from other similar music style and past for my track."

:lol:

But I fear, it isn't just that simple as you may believe (or some suppliers want you make to believe).

:lol:

That was really a good one.

i've always what the point of an eq-cloning feature is, beyond learning a little about another track. for all its worth, you might as well mix a track randomly.
