I used to have that on vinyl, but I had an LP war with friends and frisbeed it at some one's neck.Steven West wrote:my 'goal one day' is to have a CD that's as good, if not BETTER than Fleetwood Mac's 'Rumours' CD. I'm SERIOUS!![]()

I want to be in a situation where I have a certain image in my mind and I am able to represent that musically. I want to be able to get up the next day and turn the song and know that I nailed my mental thoughts into music. However, I am a loooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooong way away from even coming close to doing that consistently.
And yes, I wish I could grill too

See, I knew that would screw you guys up! But I think it's a phenominal album by some phenominal songwriters and musicians. The arrangements and production are just stunning (to me atleast).
If only one day I could be HALF that good even.

I create a lot of poo
Whatever may come from it; I hope that years from now when I am still making music to have as much fun with it as I am having today

Nothing makes me special. I just play what I want though.

What's unique about me:
I have extremely varied influences, from Japanese, Korean, Chinese, Middle Eastern, European, American, to other regions of the world. I listen to just about any style of music, and try to soak up as much as I can so I can broaden my musical palette. I'm also a practioner of other forms of creative expression (painting, photography, writing, filmmaking, fashion design..etc), and they all benefit my music in one way or another.
What I hope for the future:
To be able to compose any style of music--be it sophisticated orchestral pieces, grand operas, jazz, electronic, rock..etc, and be able to incorporate them all into a hybrid style that has no boundaries. I also would like to master the piano, guitar, drums, bass, violin, cello, and sax. (Yeah right. Maybe in 5 lifetimes.)

Nothing. Why should there be? We make music that we both really love, music that people seemed to have stopped making a while ago. So I suppose you could say we're special because we're doing something everyone else got over last century. So what!?!CskaTorpedo wrote:What makes your music stand out
To play live.what are some of your artistic goals. (even if you haven't accomplished what you want to yet).
f**k me! Habaneros are hot! I paid 20c for a packet of 'em and nearly f**king killed myself last night using just one in a stir-fry. Tonight I put just 1/4 in my bolognese which was a little light-on. Maybe 1/2 next time. But I made the mistake of wiping my face after cutting it up - it stung like a c**t for half-an-hour afterward.ourobouros wrote:It's the secret way I blend teriyaki and habanero seasonings together that makes my grilled chicken marinade recipe unique.....oh wait, you were talking about music...

I'm trying to get away from the "be original"-hype by taking clichés from all styles (that i like) and blending them into new wholes... Maybe it's a stupid project, but i like it...
And it's not that i accomplished my artistic goal or anything, or even that i do just this, it's rather something i go back to in uninspired moments. Mostly i just do what's in my head without much planning ahead...

I have been called "special" ever since my first IQ test. They even let me ride a special shorter bus to school everyday...
