Glad you like it. Wait 'til you hear version 2! (Well, not started yet, but I'm learning what'll make the biggest improvement for the effort.)

This is one great piece of work! I don't know how you're going to make it better, but I can't wait to see version 2! Thanks Jeff!

actually I can now say for those that dont need scarbee (overkill for me)
Dusty Rhodes MK11 is a GREAT job, samples are really clean, nice release samples and it HONKS.
very cool indeed, the author even let me download while waiting for the cd to arrive.
rocks

I know that what I'm going to tell has been probably already told several times... but the more I'm using the Scarbee Rhodes, the more I'm sure it has no real competitors ...
to all the people who spend a lot of time trying to find a decent, playable but most of all cheap (or worse, free) emulation of rhodes, I can just give this little advice: save your time and energy, and if you're not able to get a real rhodes get a Scarbee library... pass it through an amp or a simulator (I can't try the Vintage EFX yet cause I'm on Mac, but you can start getting good results also with Logic's built in Guitar Amp pro, Ozone's trash, Amplitube).
You'll fall in love...

I read you've done a phisical modelling emulation. Well, when it will be available on my platform I'll be glad to test it.
But its description and interface make me think we don't need another Lounge Lizard.
Btw, LL is good in several aspects and the guys at AAS need support cause they do interesting stuff, but talking about Rhodes (not approxim. emulations) I repeat what I've said: get a real one (in good conditions!) or the Scarbee. It's simply an opinion of someone who spent a lot of time on these things, starting from the EVP88...

I was joking about the Mac question.. no intention to flame at all, be it clear
Btw, one of my plans for this year is to buy a real Rhodes, I already found a Mark I for 700 € but I have to save some money first.
My rhodes emulation is not a LL2 clone, it's an alternative. Infact, under many aspects, they're quite different, although they may look similar.
If you can get a PC at your disposal, I'd be glad to let you test my latest improved emulation, far from sounding neihter close to LL2 (which is good, but too much "synthesized" to my ears).
Then, are you a good Rhodes player?

I bought it for 400 e and sold it for 650 e (mark I). Not that I didn't like it, but after some time I found out I don't really need it (or use/record it) that much.
I just turn on my Clavia Nord Electro and...

when I first purchased my Rhodes, I wrote about 25 songs in a row using that thing. Then I got a new set of legs for it- they are too tall so now I cant sit down and play. I quit using the rhodes to compose after that... I guess I need to cut the legs shorter, and get some legs for my wurlitzer...

As a long-time Rhodes owner and also a Scarbee owner, I disagree with Xist. While I agree that Scarbee is the best, I disagree that it's the only one that's worthwhile.
Actually, I use my own samples live in preference to Scarbee -- mostly because I sampled mine with EQ to get the tone I wanted, and tailored the sample set to keep the sample set size down. Also, my most forceful samples sound harder than Scarbee's. (Maybe I went overboard there ...)
However, I will testify that Scarbee is better than mine if you want the "authentic vintage sound", as unprocessed as possible. At some point I may build a soundfont using Scarbee that's small enough to use live on my laptop (as a soundfont in sfz, without disk streaming), after which I'll probably use both.
If I do, I'll be able to share an sfz-format control file for other Scarbee owners who'd like to do the same. Since the control file contains no intellectual property from Scarbee (being built from the ground up by me), this would be perfectly legit.
