Has anybody tried this yet?

It look very interesting. I've been looking to synthesise my guitar and found the audio/midi conversion thing very problematic.

However, cutting out the midi part seems logical.

I believe this is similar to Kantos (don't know what Alien Solo is)

Need to give this a try tonight methinks. Anybody tried it so far that can comment?

well, I tried it for about five minutes, but all I wanted it for was audio-to-midi, and I don't have a loopback device installed at the moment and it only outputs midi to hardware devices. As for getting a synth sound out of your guitar, have you tried grumblebum by tweakbench? one of my all-time favorites for chaotic jamming.

I do have a loopback device (MidiYoke), but I couldn't get any audio to midi working with this thing in Tracktion, so I deleted it. Tried both the internal synth and triggering another synth.

Also the ugliest GUI I've ever seen.

You should have seen the Super Eel 1 GUI

I tried it, but IMO the interface gets me confused :help:
having some presets to start out with would be nice, I think it could be a cool plugin

and then theres the cpu issue
dunno about anyone else but for me it went thru the roof

Anybody tried Kantos, or heard of Alien Solo?

I managed to get it working by feeding it into MIDI Yoke on port 1 and using MIDI-OX to map the output of port 1 to port 2 and using port 2 to control a new device which had its pitchbend set to 1 octave range.

I used my voice to control it. It does a wicked theremin impression but it thinks i sing flat. It takes way too much tweaking to get it working though once you get it working it seems to work OK. :)

Hello

I have three audio triggered synth's you might want to try?
No MIDI I am (Sorry\Happy) to say! As slides and bends respond
much better without MIDI's limitations. Check them out at

While you're at it, take a peek at Musiciendoz by Nuton.

Yeh, I tried that a while ago with good results. That's really what I want to do, control any synth from my guitar. The problem I find is the delay between playing a not and the triggering of the synth.
Musiendoz seemed to be very responsive.

However, I notice on the website it says it introduces 46ms of latency. I'm sure I had it closer to about 12ms.
