That's the first time I've ever heard anybody complain that a product offered too much??? and without even trying it?opiadream wrote:orion took a very long time to start up after I installed pluggo
so long in fact that it gave me time to think 'do I really need a boatload of pluggo vst's after finding so many good plug-ins elsewhere in the past few years?'
at which point I stopped the process and uninstalled pluggo
Pluggo/FL = no dice

I can confirm that weird noise problem. I'll let this list know as soon as we get it fixed. So what´s with that distorted noise most of the synths are making? The FX I´ve tried seem ok. I get this in both Cubase SX 2.2.0.39 and Orion Platinum 5.8.

it wasn't a complaint so much as an observationmachinesworking wrote:That's the first time I've ever heard anybody complain that a product offered too much??? and without even trying it?opiadream wrote:orion took a very long time to start up after I installed pluggo

there comes a point when too much is too much.
unless pluggo has some fantastic breakthru plug that hasn't already been offered elsewhere it's not really that interesting
the extremely long loading period gave me time to think about that
2 years ago I would've put my money down in no time
but now
do I really need to go thru the laundry list of plug-ins available today? check out the freeware lists alone

It does IMO, the other thing is you can take out the plugs you don't use. Pluggos big strong points are it's granular synthesis stuff and filters IMO, there are others, but things like the Harmonic Filter, and Generic Effect, or Feedback network..... but that's right, you already tried it out, so you know all about that stuff.opiadream wrote:there comes a point when too much is too much.

Hey everybody has right to an opinion, but I just thought it was funny you posted that it took too long to load as a reason to not even try it, and I find it equally funny that you have any opinion at all of something you've never used?

OK - a new version is up on the website now. There are a few fixes. The noise coming out of the filters problem is fixed, the one which was effecting moving waves etc. There are some other small changes.
What's not fixed yet is the fixed size buffers thing in FL. You still need to use fixed size buffers!
We are also looking into the distortion problem which I can confirm in Orion.
Cheers
