I've got a question for everybody.
Could I use an Audigy and an Audiophile 2496 in the same PC?
The reason for this is purely no headphone output on the Audiophile and my midi keyboard can be powered by the Audigy.
:help:

Yes, should be possible...

I even have three sitting happily together:
1) SB128PCI for standard Windows sounds thru tiny speakers in the LCD monitor
2) AC97 on motherboard when I want to plug in a headphone on the front panel of the PC
3) Audiotrak Maya1010 for anything that requires lots of channels and proper AD/DA quality.

FWIW, I have an issue with an m-audio and audigy not liking each other, and when I go into my host, I am forced to disable the creative card lest the m-audio freeze up during playback/recording.

I have one computer with 7, but dont try this at home kids.

1 - Terratec EXS64xl
2 - SBlive w kx drivers
3 - Ensoniq Soundscape Elite
4 - Turtle Beach Pinnacle + KORG Daughterboard
5 - Turtle Beach Multisound Classic
6 - Yamaha SW60XG
7 - Midiman EQMan

Basically its just a big rack unit synth/effects box running 98se. IRQ & address mapping from hell.
The key in a multicard setup is to NOT try recording to multiple cards unless they are synced. Same goes for playing back on one while monitoring on another (not reliable without timing sync).

Someday soon I think I am going to add an 8th card, my friend has a HardSid ISA.......

tonalaxis, what are you currently running the Audiophiles outs too?

Which host are you using?

SX 2, but the freeze happens as well with Fruity, I've seen a time or two.

Here's an old sblive trick that might be worth a shot...In the control panel try changing the default audio device for playback, also uncheck "use default device". Creative has a thing about wanting to be default and hating to let the other cards have fun too :)

Oh, not mentionned yet: if you want to use the headphone output on the Audigy you need to apply some tricks if you want to monitor the incoming signal from the Audiophile. Using both at the same time through ASIO only works with V2 of Asio4All. I'd rather use the native Asio drivers for the Audiophile.

Sell the Audigy and buy a small mixer from Behringer and monitor with that. That's what I did... :)

It can also be powered by the Audiophile, of course.

I'd like to try this but can't seem to locate anything like "set default audio device" in Cubase. I only know of the standard way of selecting which device to make active.

They are talking about the Windows control panel, not Cubase's.
ASIO specifies only one device at a time.

It's yet another in the long list of problems solved with a Behringer mixer.
