i am wondering why sometimes when i am editing, meaning playing w/ LFO's... OSC's, etc and i have my melody on loop when the loop restarts it resets all of what i have touched. Is it because i'm working off a preset, or what? This doesn't always happen but now & again it does.. and boy is it annoying lol

Post

maybe you recorded a patch change message or other automation data that's screwing you up?

Post

I agree. Check the clip for some program change data your controller may be sending without you knowing about it.

well there is surely no automation, and to check it i simply took a midi and put pro 53 on it. when the loop resets as do all of the osc's & whatever else i touched during the loop. how weird

If you imported pre-recorded midi from somewhere there is most likely program change data in it at the start.

oh you guys were right, i don't usually see a setting in my event view in the beginning AND the end of the clip. thanks for all the help,i feel foolish :dog:

in what host were you using it btw?

If you are usung Cubase 5 there are some settings
in midi preferences for "reset data on stop"
and "reset data on part end" .....

If I remember right these if checked will reset
a synths parameters that have been tweeked .

:hihi:

This is a phenomenon, very othen seen on people with no experience in hardware synthesizers (pure digital freaks). This don't happen so much often to ppl, who are grown with good old "touchable" equipment (the Pro 53 is an extended emulation and therefore it acts more like hardware) ...

this happens to me sometimes in cubase sx1 but not in sx3 and i've never had any problems with it in logic 7
