I don't know if anyone's posted this yet, but I noticed the link while browsing over at CM/FM and I figured I'd share it here, too:
New Behringer Stuff from NAMM unveiling
I'm most interested in:
-Vtone Guitar GDI21 (Tech 21 SansAmp GT2 ripoff)
-Hellbabe HB01 (Dunlop Dimebag Crybaby ripoff, with extras)
-MS40 digital monitor speakers (Edirol MA-20 ripoffs... not legendary, but affordable)
There's a thing called the nanocontroller that I'm not sure is full-featured enough for most people's needs (only 4 rotary encoders?) but might stir up some interest for the price.

you know they seem to be spreading themselves out pretty thin...I have to wonder if I trust them. I have a little mixer and it's noisey and colors the sound as well. It really is worthless except as a monitor mixer...I feel as if instead of making somethings very good they're making a lot of stuff half-assed...

Interesting that people keep bagging on Behringer. Personally i have never had a problem with Behringer gear and am very happy with what I own that they made.

Well of course they're not top quality. Behringer are not about quality at all. They're about bringing gear on the market cheaper than anyone else. Great for beginners or people with low budgets.hink wrote:I feel as if instead of making somethings very good they're making a lot of stuff half-assed...
I've got a Behringer MX602A and a pair of B2031s (the original ripoffs

Jeez! Did you check out the prices? (course you did...)
15gbp for the boss-rips, 31gbp for the Electro-Harmonix-rips...
that's half the price of previous cheap no-name pedals (rocktone etc.), about a quarter of the price of a genuine Boss.
I can see a lot of beginners with a floor full of pedals, lucky bleeders...
As for quality, who knows... plastic boxes? Wobbly pots? I've had Behringer mixers and rack gear before and had no problems with it, though contruction isn't the best.

The only problems i have with behringer stuff is that they're not "nail friendly"...i brake my nails all the time....
Just kidding, but their price/quality is perfect to me.Even SAE is using their stuff,so how bad can it be?

I have the studio headphones by Behringer, they do sound nice to me except for the harsh sound and clipping when i turn up the volume. And i had no major technical problems with them so far except that the right can fell off and is hangin on only thx to the wirering. Other then that, top stuff!

Interesting pictures. They've cloned famous companies devices before, but this time they've really copied the appearance as well. I think they were in a dispute with Mackie over the look of their earlier mixers, so these devices should get someone going. Seventy-eight new products!

The preamps aren't great, but they aren't bad if you keep the levels low. Is that what you mean? I have a Behringer mixer (a UB2442fx), And if I put too much gain on a channel I can get some hiss, but at low levels it's pretty transparent. I don't expect a $250 mixer to be a $900 preamp, and I don't use the fx at all, but it's pretty good.hink wrote:you know they seem to be spreading themselves out pretty thin...I have to wonder if I trust them. One Behringer product I regret buying was the PX-2000 patchbay. It's the balanced one. Total piece of absolute crap. But the PX-1000 unbalanced patchbays are really good.
I also have a pedalboard, FCB-1010. Love it. The expression pedals look like they came from the same factory as what Roland puts on their foot controllers. Not the toughest thing in the world, but certainly not bad.

truth be known I don't use the pre's at all, I use my Presonus blue tube. It splits the signal to trs and xlr. I run one into the mixer as well as the ouput from my soundcard. The other out goes into the input. I then use an Alesis Midiverb4 in the fx loop on the mixer. That way I can monitor with fx but record dry and of cours latency is not an issue..(see pic) I only use this for vocals. However, there's a lot of noise, especially if I use the tape ins, I generally just run it at unity, and it serves it's purpose, but I would never record sound coming out of it....fishbowl.tucson.az wrote:The preamps aren't great, but they aren't bad if you keep the levels low.
