I hear so much complainting and host bitching around here that I thought it would be a good idea to have a positive thread on why you love your host.

Hmm... I like my hosts energy XT and Tracktion because they don't get on my way, but make things easier instead. I like them also because they are fast, flexible, streamlined and rather stylish, especially eXT.

I love my host, FL Studio, simply because of this: it allows me to do everything I want to do.

Things I love about FLStudio:
- The Piano Roll. It's just amazing to use. The piano rolls in eXT, Orion etc. are also very good. But something about the functionality just makes it a doddle to use. People complain about having about having little icons and tools, but no-one seems to realise that you never have to press them! Switch quickly from Draw mode to Select mode by just holding down Ctrl. Split notes by holding down shift and drawing a line. It's just SO fast.
- The Mixer. A contentious issue, I know, but I really like the way it's layed out. Plenty of scope for adding inserts and Sends. Obviously, you should never have to use up all the slots if you're discplined in your music making, but it's nice to know they are there.
- Stability. This app has been just rock solid for me. Only time I remember it crashing was when I was playing around with ASIO4ALL settings.
- Multi-Out support. It seems really easy to utiltise multi-out plugins. Also, it's easy to just slot in some MIDI OUT generators and point them to different channels on plugins like sfz, etc.
I love 95% of things about energyXT, jorgen is working on the last 5%.

I love my host because i am a parasitic worm, and he provides me with the nourishment i need. Nice bloke too, never held it against me that he gets the shits something terrible from my antics.

I have a love/hate relationship with EXT. It's mostly love, I have to say
It clicks when I loop an audio part
The new arrangement feature is more complicated than I thought it should be, which is doing my nut in
but............
I still love the darn thing.
The midi editor is fantastic.
You can route anything anywhere.
It's constantly getting updated.
The sampler is tops!
It was cheap !
Great piece of software, EXT. Truly great.

I
EnergyXT, cause it suits my reasoning as to how to write songs with a computer. The modular approach reflects my muddled mind

Are you a tril or one of them things from stargatequincy wrote:I love my host because i am a parasitic worm, and he provides me with the nourishment i need. Nice bloke too, never held it against me that he gets the shits something terrible from my antics.

I love my Tracktion because it's all in one screen, do anything that Cubase SX can do (i learned on it) but i hate my slow PC, he is one tough mother and father f**ker that won't let me work on more than 6-7 midi tracks on Tracktion that i love.
P.S. Tracktion don't have nothing like apache that's a pity.
