I can't find one by searching KVR. Any chance anybody has done this? I've got loads of amp sims, but none that have done a bass guitar amp/cabinet sim.

It'll be different from bass to bass and mix to mix, but one successful sound I got was:
Model: Spkr Sim
Drive: -3 S
Bias: 21
Output: 0dB
Process: MONO
To give it a bit more punch, I used "Studio Bass" preset on Blockfish, and even before the compressor, I low-passed it at 912Hz and high-passed it at 20 Hz. To be honest, I don't know if the high-pass did anything, as my listening equipment doesn't go below 20 Hz anyhow, but I wanted to be safe in knowing that "what I heard" is what was making it into the final mix.
It doesn't hurt that I used an American Standard Fender Jazz Bass, either.

Here's my (all free) chain that I'm using right now
Kjaerhaus Classic Compressor - Bass Guitar preset is about right.
Cortex Amp Simultator - Blues amp, high bass and treb, low middle - one speaker active , on the 2HnK setting.
If you want , you can make it easier by using the free VSTMultiEffect as a chainer. Then you are loading a single vst effect and you can save a bunch of configurations as single presets.
Classic compressor - http://www.kjaerhusaudio.com/
Cortex - http://www.helium.ex0.org/vst/
MultiFXVST - http://www.ctaf.free.fr/
I think there's a gap in the market for a low cost Bass Amp sim and I suggested to the maker of GreenMachine that he should release a cheap bass-only version , in a recent thread.

Those are impulse responses for use in a convolution plugin. You're not going to be able to play live through a plugin like that and your host will need to have plugin delay compensation.rockstar_not wrote:wsaidah, could you put up some links?
