f**k yeah. band music is a piece of piss too! all you need is a guitarist a drummer a bassist and a singer. heck, if you can just about play all three instruments and hold a tune with your voice you can do it all yourself in cubase. piece of pizzniss. let's take on the charts!
Kick, punch, it's all in the mind.

I tried to use buzz some years ago, this guy really know how to use it as its best :-o
This sounds good, as good as any other dance track I've ever heard, and knowing buzz it's really impressive :D

Btw yes, trance is "easy" to do, because all trance tracks are structured the same, use the same sound types, same "tricks" ... There is nothing to reinvent when making dance tracks, if you see what I mean, it is like this guy has bought the "how to make dance tracks" manual and followed exactly the rules
What is difficult when making music is to do something DIFFERENT from everything you ever heard. First guy to make a D&B track was a f**king genius, for example :D (btw, who was it ?)

are you trying to attract Bones' attention? :hihi:

we can't have an argument without him :hihi:

Frankly its a bit condescending to announce that "Genre X" is easy to do".

Go away, write a track that sounds as good as some of these, and then come back and we'll talk. Until that time, you don't have the right to say its easy. And even then, i'd bet that it wasn't actually that easy to do.

As for DnB, i believe that grooverider was among the early pioneers, playing techno records with 2 step elements way too fast!! Also people like 4 hero, roni size, doc scott, Andy C.

Quite well produced indeed but like some others have stated, it all sounds a bit.. hmm, dated and with lots of cliches. Also you really DO hear some of the sounds being a bit on the thinner side and some stepping during filter sweeps (this is weird as interpolating the cutoff/modulation should be very easy). However, considering the limitations of only using buzz machines this is pretty damn solid work.

I'd say 99.99% of people who say trance is easy to do have NO CLUE at all. They probably make a piss poor rythm/groove, uses presets that say "trance" on them etc. etc. so you all that say this can just go and f**k off. It takes serious effort and time to get a basic good groove going. Here's a little secret for you idiots that don't have a clue.. 1, 2, 3, 4, kick, doesn't make the groove, ok?

Cheers!

5/4 is indeed not a common time for trance :hihi:

buzzmachine are indeed capable of producing quite polished sound (never really used buzz, checked it 3yr ago, no go - but i've got me a collection of select machines for FLS).

they aren't suitable if a client is peeping over your shoulder, and have inconsistencies in audio output level etc (always use limiter on masterbus), but I can easily make a (multimedia background) tune or 8-16bar loop, with all final fx on master (all machines), ready to export in mpeg, all on my dev sub-1ghz PIII box (with scsi UV160 :P - sign of *past-pro* era).

btw i think manic was poiting at 1-2-3-4 kick, not 1-2-3-4-*then* kick :P
