Does anyone have this CD? How is it? The clips I can hear on websites seem decent...

Thanks!

I think it is a good album but I cannot help but be amused by a US singer singing with an English accent, normally it is the other way around.

Love it! One of the best albums of 2004.
Steve.
I know I have got a negative edge, that’s why I sharpen all the others a lot.

honestly? i think it's a f**king awesome album.

it's been a while since i've been genuinely interested in a particular band. the killers have some absolutely excellent songs, and a really great sound. i'd snap it up, it's always playing here :)
Kick, punch, it's all in the mind.

I dig what I've heard anyway.:phones:

listen to more US punk bands then ;)

i really dig the killers, though the rest of the album sounds not much like "somebody told me". i love damn near every song on the cd -- the mastering of the disc, on the other hand.... blech....

Thanks for the responses. I have enough "music points" at BMG club for a free CD -- so I was thinking about this one. I think I will place my order today

Kind of a Duran Duran throw back. 80's New wave with a new millinium feel. I am sick of rap/RnB, Nu Metal and
Emo alt Rock that has been dominating the radio lately.
Hot Fuss is one of my "Years Best" picks.

if you want to hear o good album, skip this radio manufactured piece of shite and pick up The Arcade Fire's new album "Funerals" It will blow your mind. top notch shit that is truly different than this major label radio garbage.

The Killers CD is decent. Nothing amazing as at a few points it just falls off, and there's something weird about the mix that just bugs me (the bass on the first track sounds off to me, and the lead synth sounds sound almost like pads with all the reverb and delays on them, but that's prolly just me, not my thing).

I haven't heard the Arcade Fire album, but the few songs I've heard on satellite radio were good but I'm bothered by the fact that the guy sings way too much like Isaac Brock from Modest Mouse. I mean Isaac Brock has an extremely distinct voice, and what are the odds that someone else just happens to sing just like him? This one I'm not alone on either, all my friends who own the album and think that it's good will agree with me that it's kind of strange.

Now on to an AMAZING album: The Comas - Conductor. There's not a bad thing about that album. Has a great kind of lofi (but in a wierd futuristic kind of way) vibe, and is one of those records that just becomes better and better with every listen. Kind of a break up album, but with a futuristic kick, songs about office jobs to being a hologram to interstellar queens. Hard to explain, but if you like the Killers and the Arcade Fire, and want something in a somewhat similar vein only with a lot more depth The Comas album is the way to go. Check it out. The bonus DVD has a basically what is a long video for the album which is really cool too.
I'm sorry this post wasn't about techno.

as far as the whole style of music is concerned, the first cd by The Faint "Danse Macabre" is absolutely brilliant. one of those albums you can listen to on repeat for hours. their newest cd is good too, but to me, doesn't quite hit the same mark that the fiirst one does.

and i hear you on the mix of "Hot Fuss", funkybot... i think it's more the mastering though. it seems overcompressed and like they cranked way too much 12k or so with a high shelf... perhaps they abused an exciter...not sure, but that cd fatigues my ears pretty quick if i play it at slightly above a moderate level. just way too much top end sizzle on it... :?
