Favorite sound mangling plugs?

I've recently started playing around with Ableton Live (excellent piece of software for improvisation/performance/goofing off just for the fun of it - check it out!).

One fun thing to do is just dropping a couple of random loops into it and altering them beyond recognition on the fly. Rearranging, pitch shifting, processing etc.

Any suggestions for processing plugs I might have fun with? Preferably raw, brutal and industrial sounding, but anything goes as long as it is interesting! :) Simple is good - try automating something on the fly when the parameter list is two screens high. Reason's Screamer distortion would be an excellent example if it was a VST. Good sounding and not overly complex to use.

Free is also good of course...

Eh, should probably have put this in the Effects forum. Well, done is done...

Check out PSP Nitro, Its hard to put your finger on what sound it creates. I's just so versatile. www.pspaudioware.com for the demo.

And I've just started having a lot of fun with Izotope's Spectron, but make sure your buffer is at least 512, preferably 1024.
It is a very powerful and intense plugin. www.izotope.com (If you want in on the group buy, email me at izotopegroupbuy@yahoo.co.uk .
The price structure will come soon. Word is now that the discount will be at least 25%, but I think we can manage 50%

anarchy FX and rhythms

e-phonic lofi

white noise dopplemangler (btw, there's a group buy going on right now on white noise's stuff.)

tweakbench breakdown and mashup

delaydots

tobybear

koen / smart electronix KTGranulator

NI intakt now that absynth accepts audio input, i bet thats a great mangler too. oh, and theres spektral delay as well...and then, of course there's reaktor.

speaking of reaktor,Sicklecell666 has made a brutal new ensemble.

and while we're on the modular topic, let us not forget to mention synthedit. 8)

Thanks for all the suggestions! I've been around the smartelectronixs site. The problem is just that there are so many plugs out there!

Choice is good of course. But so is a little help choosing what to try out!

To add something useful of my own:

Downloaded the arcDev Echotank XL and have been playing around with it for the last hour or so.It is a "multiple tempo synched delay with cross feedback and LFO controlled filters" thingie. It does strange and interesting things to rythmic loops.

Yeah, smartelectronix is a good place to start (supatrigga, crazy ivan etc).

How about Lucipher for some serious mangling, or Filterscape, which brings loads of possibilities to the table.

Filterscape isn't available for Windows yet, btw, but it's coming.

Another one I love, Mac only, is Augustus Loop.
