Is anyone currently using this? http://www.ilio.com/spectrasonics/vocal ... index.html
The demos sound fantastic but I was hoping to get some user reviews. I've been looking at this for months and months.
Just wondering about ease of use, or some nice surprises while using it... the library is massive but I haven't heard a lot of feedback on it. I have seen this: http://www.ilio.com/spectrasonics/vocal ... views.html
Perhaps it is geared more for high end users, film and tv work?
Any thoughts? I'd love to own it but I'm watching the pennies. ...well I could be pursuaded to spend a bit! :)

Glad you're interested...it was easily our biggest project ever....lots of fun going all over the world to record it, but it was SO much work to complete!

You can find some more info on it and more in depth reviews on our home site:

Also, you might enjoy some of the behind the scenes stories from the project too:

Incidentally, the film "Ray" that's nominated for a Best Picture Academy Award this year features VP heavily for all the lead vocal stuff that's not Ray Charles (the moaning vocals in the flashback scenes of his childhood). We got a very nice screen credit at the end of the film too! :) 8)

Cool stuff....

Hi Eric,
I thought you might reply. :) Thank you.

This is really an amazing package and one I would like to explore a little more first hand. I guess that's one of the difficult things with software like this is there really is no way to take it for a test drive. I love the insights that you pointed out. The store clerk story is great!

One question though: Is DAT the way you would record that project today if you had to do it again?..or is there a new standard that you would consider?

Funny that you mentioned "Ray", as I watched it last night. I always make a point of "listening" to movies/films and was mesmerized by it. Hard to put your finger on it but it definitely has that magic that you feel sometimes. It must be very exciting to be part of it!

Thanks again for the reply.
