I have 145 GB ...of Sound Effects :hihi:

If my libraries had not been batch 'trim cropped' this would probably only just fit on the 250GB external HD.

As for my music stuff, well it's all over the place! Hmm, wonder how much.

114gb with samples.. and it's only that small because I need a new HD soon ;)

How many gobs of what are on my dick? I have to use the love jelly or it just won't fit in :o...OOPS! only about 30 gigs...

About 36 gig. 16 gig SampleTank and Sonic/Sonik Synth, 14 gig EWQLSO Gold, the rest of it Reason, M-Tron, Akai, soundfonts, loops and one-shots for Live, and other miscellany.

With the exception of a few specialty areas ("ethnic" instruments mostly) I think it's plenty for someone with my musical skill level (which would be in the "fair to middling" range). I'm... satisfied. *blink* An odd sensation, that.

(Of course, if someone has an extra, un-registered EWQLSO Platinum Pro package they just can't find room for, I'd be willing to accept it. :-D I'd have to buy a new computer to put it on, but would accept that tribulation without too much complaining.)

Same with VSTs. The bases are covered, and I've pretty much got enough. Not that I won't buy more, but the urgency is gone -- no "Ooo, I've just got to have that before I can make music!"

Poor Absynth... it's been at the end of my VSTi wish list for ages, and I'll probably never buy it...

about 19 GB -- just bought a new hard drive just for samples when I saw how things were going here

my musical output: < 100 MB

in the near future I imagine even hobbyists will have server-type PCs with 10 hot-swappable drive bays, 16 GB of RAM, etc.

or for big static lumps of data like sample libraries, maybe there will be new kinds of data cartridges or megadongles that would plug into a local data access bus -- they would show up in the file system like network nodes so that filepaths in projects would not get screwed up by cartridges physically changing places on the data bus

200gb removable hard drive caddies for backup.

They cost just over a hundred quid each and work great. They're as fast a main drives 8)

My 80GB HDD is almost full because it is loaded with 75GB of all sort of samples (sf2's mainly, gigasamples, Halion samples, Kontakt samples, DR-008 drumkits...).

>2 GB of samples on my disk, unless you count reason refills, Mtron Banks, and soundfonts. In that case its about 15 GB. The only samples I have/use anymore are drum loops, which I use to flesh out a song before programming a beat...

Today, about 30GB, Yesterday morning it was 13GB.
