Hi everyone,

I am remastering old tracks with Ozone. The orignal format of the files is stereo 44.1/16bits.

Do I need to turn the dither on or can I leave it off?

I actually tried both ways and I really don't hear any difference in the end result.

Thanks for your help.

Dithering from 16bit/44.1K to 16bit/44.1K will have no effect at all.

AKAIK dithering is used when droping down from, say 96khz or 48khz to 44.1khz. so no... I wouldn't expect you to hear any difference.
Chugga says "Turn it up!!!"
For extra epointz - quote "ChuggaChugga" :D

Ozone processes internally at 64 bit, vst plugs output at 32 bit and you're going to 16 bit, so it will make a difference if you are using ozone's effects but not much of one.

you mean dithering is for bit depth, say from 32 or 24 bits to 16 or 8.

sample rate conversion is for , er, the sample rate. someone correct me if i am wrong.
You are indeed correct, sir.
