Was wondering if there are any of the classic drum breaks converted to midi out there?
You know...amen, funky mule, apache....
I'm looking for quality stuff with ghost snares and mulitple velocity info.
Free or commercial.
No suggestoins to use Recycle please. I don't want to chop up samples. I want pure midi so I can assign my own samples. Even chopping and then exporting to midi is not that great since there are far too many simultaneous hits and often the ghost snares and kicks are not detected.
Ideally these patterns would be captured from real drummer's performances.

I've got some midi breaks from the keyfax midi collections. They typically sound like crap, even with DR-008 jungle kits they don't have any life to them. I find it easier to work with audio than to spend all that time trying to get a midi groove to sound good.
IMO only Andy Barlow (Lamb) has managed to make midi breakbeats sound good. But, if you want to try it anyway, get Paul Kodish dangerous drums midi files (which Kodish recorded with a midi drum kit). PM me and maybe I'll sell you mine.

I made some for BFD that I think sound pretty good, but of course for that type of style half of the sound is in the samples you use and the techinques you use to chop them up.

Basic, 2step, Goldie, Swing, Amen, some Simon V patterns, Quadrant 6, Moving 808s, Datalife, Krust, Matrix Cosmic Tree

But it won't sound good. Drum'n'Bass sounds like crap if you use samples from different breaks (except when you do two-step). Due to the high tempo, it will sound totally artificial even if you just change one sample. It may work with HipHop beats @ 90bpm, but not at 150+.
And, excuse me, but if you even use someone else's rhythms in D'n'B, where the f**k is the art? Because you even want your ghost snares instantly included. Don't take it personal, but this is even worse than using loop libraries.

I'm not so sure I agree with the your assesment of swapping samples. Using shorter hits should do the trick and using a variety of varied hits. (The better single hit libraries have several slightly varied (velocity & pitch) snares for example. Not to mention these libraries have taken tempo into account for the single hits.
No offense to you either, but I love it when someone says I can't do it a certain way, especailly for a certain genre. It just makes me want to do it more.

Btw, swapping samples has worked great and sounds fantastic. Some note lengths have to be tweaked, but otherwise I highly recommend this tutorial by Simon to learn how to deconstruct and subsequently program your own awesome DnB breakbeats.
