Does anyone know of a free sampleplayer which loads 24-bit wavs and lets you change the sound with filters and stuff controllable by MIDI ?
I mean; I just want to throw a single tone I made into a VSTi-thing and then play it from my Microkorg using the keys and knobs (which I also use as a softsynthcontroller)

how about shortcircuit light or paax?
Have you tried them?

I'm not sure about 24 bit, but check vsampler3...it can "learn" midi controls... :D

VSampler3 isn't exactly freeware (though a MIDI-learnfunction is one of the things I'm looking for), and yes I did do a search for sampleplayers already but saw nothing I particularly liked.

I am going to tryout Shortcricuit Free though. I hadn't seen that one before. So thanks.

sfz will load WAV files. It also lets you play with filters and reverb (and EQ and stuff) - but you might find the need to hack up a simple sfz format mapping by hand, rather than having MIDI learn.
