Is there any hope of authentic vocal simulation in the near future? I can't see this happening unless we have super computers that can process all the nuances of the human voice. Any glimmer of hope on the horizon?

Anyone heard anymore about Vocaloid? I've not yet heard one even remotely authentic demo. Yet still they are marketing this. It's a bit like marketing Tango as orange juice.
