hi

well i use cubase sx and reason as a rewire .

my question is if i can work with the matrix of reason on vst instrumants on cubase

i know there is the step disigner on cubase but it's just not the same ..

somone have can help me with this ? .. :?

Post

Nope- Reason doesn't have a MIDI out.
You COULD export the MIDI track made by the Matrix using Reason's export MIDI command and bring THAT into Cubase, but that's the only way to do it.

i can suffle in this one ?

i feel ya. the shuffle in Reason is unmatched. it's the only one better than an MPC60.

What sort of shuffle is it that you can't get in Cubase?

if i were to analyse it (something i did with the MPC) i know that i could program it in cubase, and i probably should. but it's the algorithm in Reason that is funkier.

i could make a groove template for cubase of my favorite shuffle in Reason but i normally want to be able to adjust it a bit to the other tracks that i have played live so a template would not be as flexible.

that being said, i have not used Reason in around 5 months and make all my drum tracks manually without relying on the constraints of quantising.

but a setp sequencer like Matrix with the shuffle of Reason makes a great tool for House, D&B and other typer of electronic music.

Are you aware of iterative quantize then?
Because that's exactly what it's doing.

yes but i'm stuck in my ways and have no problem using the tools i know.

it's just like when i started using software to make music in 1999. it was taking me sooooooooo much time to learn stuff that i could do with my eyes closed in my ASR-10. i hated it like hell. i like to manage my workflow with operations that i know inside-out so that when i have an idea i can apply it right away rather than look for the most hi-tech way of doing it.

that's just me.

You know, I am by no means defending Cubase's quantize functionality. Compared to what Logic can do it's absolutely laughable (there's just no sequencer on par with Logic, regarding this very issue, believe me), but what you just asked for could be done easily.

well .. all ihave to say is that i started create music with reason at first and then move to cubase .

the thing in reason is that i know this software very well and i think that she's really comfortable
for using..

i create psytrance and chill out stuff and the matrix seq in reason is a real kick ass tool for creating this kind of music ..

somone need to build it to fit cubase plugin .. :!:
