Nice work Mr. Tunes.
I like the rapid autopanning that you did to the Rhodes preset on the one called "Satan's Pond." I'll have to remember that trick.
I also had some fun tinkering with this combi. I panned all the individual presets, reduced the filter frequency and increased the resonance on the RS-09 Noise preset to get more of an ocean sound, then added the 001 Moody Tron Violins preset (which I modified by slowing down the attack, increasing the release, and cranking up the reverb), then tweaked the volume settings to come up with a variation on your combi.
The tron violins gave the combi kind of an old-time movie kind of a feel.
But that's all part of the fun of exchanging presets. You can tinker with somebody else's work and take it in a different direction.

im curious to hear what you did with the patch. i think it is really cool that we are all learning about how each other puts together patches. im learning a lot from browsing your collection or something like Caleb's Heavens Gate.

The only thing you could be learning from me is how to take a couple of different presets almost at random and slap them together.Mr. Tunes wrote:im learning a lot from browsing your collection or something like Caleb's Heavens Gate.
I wouldn't call myself a sound designer in ST2 yet.
But I'm happy to haphazardly slap more presets together if you continue to stroke my ego like that.

We will of course, be happy to host your presets on http://www.sonikelementz.com. With your permission, I will grab the file, rezip it, upload and link to it from the sonikelementz computer music forum. Let me knowFrunobulax wrote:
I submitted this file to KVR and Patcharena around 3 weeks ago, but it's starting to look like neither place will host them. I notice neither site has any Sampletank or SS1/SS2 presets at all, so perhaps the file size or the concern about people sharing actual samples is a problem for them. So I was left with no recourse but to take them to the people myself.![]()

It would be great to have a vast repository (there's a lame word, sounds like "suppository") of user patches for SS2 at one location, kind of like what NI does with Absynth patches and the Reaktor ensembles.

This is one of the primary reasons for sonikelementz to exist. I think Mr Tunes may have already started a thread for it there. If you're a registered esoundz customer, you're automatically also a sonikelementz forum member as well (if not, registration is of course free).Frunobulax wrote:Permission granted.rmirabelle wrote: We will of course, be happy to host your presets on http://www.sonikelementz.com. I'll prepare and upload your combis as soon as I can.
Thanks for the good work!

I have created a new thread over at the Computer Music Studio Forum on sonikelementz.com for this discussion.
http://www.sonikelementz.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=43
Frunobulax, I went ahead and posted your combi collection there as the first post.
Those of you who have posted combis, THANKS! You guys rock! When you get a chance, hop over to sonikelementz and post your combis in the thread above.

Thanks Robert. I look forward to downloading lots of great presets from that thread.
One of the great things about SS2 is that it is so vast that a 100 people could come up with a 100 different styles of patches.
And it's so easy to work with you could lock up 100 monkeys in a room with 100 SS2's and eventually create the aural equivalent of Shakespeare.

Just to correct a possible misperception that I may have created earlier in the thread, Patcharena has agreed to host my combi's (as has Sonik Elementz as noted above).
I received a nice message from Alex at Patcharena who explained the delay in getting them posted. He also told me he has just purchased SS2 himself, so I'm sure he is especially happy to host SS2 patches.
I have edited my post on page 1 of this thread to reflect the appropriate addresses for both of these sites.
