Philharmonik - Patches orchestral or creative?

I bought the original MV library when it came out nearly ten years ago. I paid over $3000 for it and thought it would NEVER be outdated in the foreseeable future. I also bought two VERY expensive samplers to run it.
A few years later it was obvious it would be obsolete soon.
I don't use it much anymore as it has been replaced by my EWQLSO Gold and GPO.
I also owned (previous to the MV set) the expensive (at that time-1993) Roland Orchestral library which has also been heard all over the place too. I paid less than the MV, about $1000.00.
I was VERY happy (at least until last year!) that Roland packaged the best material from the old library into a VSTi plugin, the Edirol HQO. It has never sounded better imo.
The Prosonus library (the oldest orchestral library) was recently re-packaged into a VSTi by Big Fish and has also never sounded better.
I was wondering when someone would get a hold of the MV library and do the same, as it is getting 'long-in-the-tooth' as well.
The fact that there is 'extra material' (for more chromatic multi-sampling) and the choir samples makes this one the best value in an orchestral library yet.
Roland made their library into a VSTi for Half price. The Prosonus library is about the same price.
At the suggested price of the new MV library I don't know if I can resist! The MV library will give some needed material to owners of EWQLSO as the samples are a better timbre-match than dry samples from other libraries. If the programming is up to snuff as well than this one is going to be HOT!
Garritan has a GPO Advanced coming out with a lot more material, but I prefer the EWQLSO Gold now and would like something with a similar ambience to add to it as the Pro upgrade is still lacking a few things that MV had, like a bassoon unison, for one.
Now if they would just do the same for Advanced Orchestra....

yeah i dont know about that. i've heard some sonic reality sounds played through sampletank, and then ive played the same (or very similar) patches through nnxt and im just disappointed. reason 3 should address some of the "warmth" issues that i used to dislike about reasonBassballjg wrote:It would be nice to see the Miroslav stuff done for NNXT, though.
on the other hand, so much flexibility with the nnxt it's amazing!

Maybe some of the sounds will make their way into Reason somehow. We'll see.sghoughton wrote:Is there anything about this new library that will be readable in Reason? Or is this strictly going to be available for SR samplers?

There's also going to be an introductory discount for any MV owners as well. Of course, the fact that you paid $3K and will save maybe another hundred bucks or so perhaps is nothing to jump up and down about but then again, every bit saved is that much more left over to get something else (perhaps Sonik Synth 2 for examplenexussynth wrote:I bought the original MV library when it came out nearly ten years ago. The Miroslav archives have some amazing qualities to them. The released library material was definitely benefiting from some updating and tweaking not to mention enhancement using the SampleTank 2 engine. Just the attention and love it is getting now with a fresh approach is making it like a great combination of what it was and what no one has yet heard it being. So, this plus the value of packing it in with more material is something we're excited about.

Let me tell you about excited Squids....
I actually don't know how I've contained myself thus far to tell you the truth.
I loved SS1 and I'm still just started with SS2 and the SR Drums combi buy (both have been great so far by the way), but I'm about ready to turn inside out over Philharmonik.
Probably no surprise that it's a product even more geared towards me than SS1 and SS2 and I got both of them. So what do you think the chances are that I won't purchase this product at the soonest possible opportunity?
Of course, that doesn't mean I won't be checking out your Brass capsule. From what you've said before I don't think Philharmonik's brass will replace those in the Brass capsule. They will be different in style and focus. Is that right?

As far as I know, they will be quite different. Philharmonik's brass will be lyrical/majestic, and Brass Capsule will be more for pop/rock/modern... so probably bright, punchy, exciting.Caleb wrote:From what you've said before I don't think Philharmonik's brass will replace those in the Brass capsule. Of course, it's all conjecture.

Well if that's the case Jeez I'm in on both counts.
It's definitely something I feel is greatly lacking in my current libraries so I would like both.

Yes, for the most part this is the case. Philharmonik would be more classic and the capsule or ST2 library would be more pop/jazz.
