how many would consider themselves 'fit'?

seems to me since i took up this music making it just encourages more sitting in front of a computer
that and the fact that i seem to do my best work fueled by chocolate chip cookies and Diet Coke.
music's gotten better, but i'm even more inclined to sit still and get fat.
Is this why so much of electronic music is dance oriented?
Is it a more balanced and healthy lifestyle to do trance and house and dance to those 20 minute club mixes?
Those of us working on the atmosphere and ambient might have missed the lecture on getting on up and shaking that thing.

I work out to some extent 6 days a week, usually, weights, rowing or running. That said, I smoke and drink like a trooper so no I'm no fit, just easing my conscience.

You mean some people actually get up and move??
Think of the health and safety issues... All those black eyes from arms flailing around and the possibilty of tripping over hand bags on the dance floor...
Safe and sound with my laptop and a coffee... that'll do me, it's far too dangerous out there..

I've been using Bowflex for 6+ years, at least 3 days a week. I try to mix in some cardio every once in a while. So, yes, I consider myself fit!

bullshit. gyms smell bad.try to get to the gym as much as possible
otoh if you really must, my personal research has shown that granovita soydrink with calcium produces most wicked *gasses* flava. will blend with gym odors in a very special way. even if you don't want to, you'll get noticed.

Vegetarian 18 plus years, dont exercise much apart from walking, but I do walk flat-out, and I used to be doing about an hour a day all up fairly steep hills, so that wasnae bad. Much closer to work now, though, aint got around to compensating for the shorter distance. Dont smoke, do drink beer. Plus usually several hours of the more, erm, interesting varieties of exercise at t'weekends. Used to do weights a bit irregularly, but mine are in storage.

walking seemed like a good start after not doing much at all for a few years
wife found some program for 10,000 steps/day
turns out that takes about 90 minutes
haven't gotten that far or that much time yet
40 - 50 minutes and I can to 5000
but a friend suggested only driving half way to work and walking the rest. I may do that once the weather turns a little friendlier.

it's cool in summer because quite some of pretty healthy longhaired females go out and shake their nice butts

Before my daughter was born, I was extremely fit (2 hrs a day in the gym, plus mountain biking). Now its hard to get a half-hour on the excercise bike, let alone a 3 hour mountain bike ride.
I'm getting better about it, though. I really have to prioritize at least a little exercise, because it's just too easy fire up FLS and start making tracks. I'm planning to be back on my mountain bike 3-4 days a week this summer.
